It’s been a challenging week, maybe it has for you as well. Nothing wrong with that as the universe does not want us complacent and dull. To counter balance we also need opportunities to lighten up and have fun. As laughter is resistance and resilience needs humour to thrive.
This why I offer you two short poems today that made me laugh out loud. May they amuse and lift you too.
Today I will not live up to my potential.
Today I will not relate well to my peer group.
Today I will not contribute in class.
I will not volunteer one thing.
Today I will not strive to do better.
Today I will not achieve or adjust or grow enriched or involved.
I will not put my hand up even if the teacher is wrong and I can prove it.
Today I might eat the eraser off my pencil.
I’ll look at the clouds.
I’ll be late.
I don’t think I’ll wash.
I need a rest.
This poem is dangerous: It should not be left
Within the reach of children, or even adults
Who might swallow it whole, with possibly
Undesirable side-effects. If you come across
An unattended, unidentified poem
In a public place, do not attempt to tackle it
Yourself. Send it (preferably, in a sealed container)
To the nearest centre of learning, where it will be rendered
Harmless, by experts. Even the simplest poem
May destroy your immunity to human emotions.
All poems must carry a Government warning.
Words can seriously affect your heart ♥️
Both poems are from She is Fierce by Ana Sampson, Brave, Bold and Beautiful poems by women.
I do hope you enjoyed these poems and you have some fun today,
Do let me know in the comments and any suggestions of your favourite poems.
With Love and Solidarity,
🌻 An announcement on Tuesday of a new initiative I have to offer starting in September. I am excited about what this can become as I put the plan together.
