As we await the forging of the Solar Eclipse in Leo, casting its shadow over Greenland and then across to Spain, we can clearly see a path that is already in great focus beneath it. Severe fires continue to devastate Spain, just after it won and celebrated the World Cup a few weeks ago, while Donald Trump renews his public push to bring the Arctic territory of Greenland under U.S. control.
The astrology chart for the eclipse moment highlights a stellium in Leo, Fire, and hotheads, as the Fire-Air intensity that has swept through the astrological community over the past week, the cancelling of Steven Forrest, continues to raise many issues, resentments and foul responses. On the eve of many of us heading to UAC, it feels completely volatile: a microcosm of the macrocosm.
At this eclipse we see Venus join the Great Sextile, or as I feel misnamed Basket, given recent events, I have been calling it a Cauldron. Calling it a Basket seems much too gentle for such an intense outer-planet line-up. Venus in Libra deepens this Cauldron by another 60 degrees, opposing Neptune, sextiling Mercury and creating a Grand Trine with Pluto and Uranus. The great formation now momentarily looks like an envelope opening. What is the great message here, that will reverberate for coming months?
Venus is also now beaming in from her maximum elongation, a time in her cycle when her speed stabilises back to the same pace as the Sun. There is a determination here a not letting down, a perseverance, a willingness to stand by what we value. Venus opsite Neptune, are both in dynamic 8th-harmonic aspects to the eclipse, no doubt making this a time of reckoning, facing up to the reality we find ourselves with Leo courage and heart.

As Saros Cycle 126 returns, as it did in August 2008 at 1° Leo, we cannot help but remember what followed. Just weeks later came the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in September 2008, triggering the stock market crash and the Great Financial Crisis, with the banking system around the world left reeling. Cycles return but are never the same. In 2008 we were not immersed in this great formation, as its proven, a hard one to read.
Keeping calm and cool as the eclipse perfects, doing the inner work, helps us deal with the outer work that needs to be done. We hang on to our seats and Agent hats as the eclipse energy circulates.
