Maria Cain · Around My Table with Maria Cain

Hi and happy Sunday! Hope everyone had happy Halloweens - it felt like it was approaching forever, then done in a blink of an eye! We had lots of fun at our neighborhood gathering. My mother-in-law, Cathy joined us since they just moved in down the street! I absolutely love having family so close.

As I’ve mentioned here before, I’ve been in an absolute grind at work for the past couple of months, which has also caused lots of life and home responsibilities to pile up and feel insurmountable. As a result, I am so burned out in all areas. When I’m in situations like this, my nature is to power through and try to tackle everything at once, but ultimately that doesn’t serve me at all. All of this to say that I’m going on a hiatus from writing Consider it Done. I truly believe I’ll be back, I just need a minute to reset and get inspired again. I will be pausing subscriptions for the break, and will open up the Consider it Done Links Archive for all of you. Every recipe and product recommendation I’ve made is in there, enough to last you years!

Thank y’all for reading and supporting. I hope you enjoy today’s newsletter and I’ll be back!

Wishing you an restful Sunday! Thank you for supporting Consider it Done.

Lands End Supima Cotton 400tc Sheet Set - I love a new set of sheets, and I do love the Quince ones I recommended back in March. These Lands End sheets are on super sale and are high quality, somehow both soft and crisp, and come in lots of colors. These sheets are great for deep mattresses.

The Many Lives of Mama Love by Lara Love Hardin - This book seems to be having a moment. I saw Lara speak at an event in town, and she was incredible. Super authentic and honest about her past and what it was like to be incarcerated and away from her four boys for a year. This would make a great book club read.

Animal Habitats Sticker Book - Shout out to my sister for this one. She gifted Millie this sticker book, and we haven’t put it down! It keeps Millie entertained for a good while, and is super cute! I want one for myself, so fun to arrange your stickers in the little scenes.

What’s below:

My high + low

How I’m treating myself in the coming week.

We’ll start with the low first…

Working all hours. Up until midnight, working late, and working early. I’m tired and overwhelmed but really believe relief is near. I am looking forward to putting a plan together where I can step away and let the engine run itself.

And my high point…

The sweet moments I got to spend with Millie. Nothing takes you out of a work stupor than playing with a 3 year old. She is so funny and opinionated and observant. I love learning about her little world, and she teaches me so much! She just taught me a new verse to Twinkle, Twinkle!

Finally, to treat myself this week…

Wills and I arranged for Millie to have a sleepover with her Pops and Mica on Saturday night so we could enjoy a grown up dinner. We also lucked out in getting to actually enjoy the extra hour of sleep!

That’s all for this week, and for the moment. Thanks again for supporting Consider it Done.
