There are still 46 days of summer left, but I’m off to Cape Town (!!) where it’s winter, so my season’s over. It flew by, but here’s what got me through it!

Beauty - Travel Friendly Clothes - Caffeine - Summer Flavors - Travel

  • Moisturizer: All summer I’ve used this duo of daily / nightly moisturizer which has been great for my combination skin. I think I still have a discount so try CLAIRE20 in case! this is not an ad for them…

  • SPF: 50 or bust, listen to your mom!!

  • Linen: now that Uniqlo’s linen seems to be permanently sold out, WNU has taken the top spot. The matching short sets look more put-together than they feel and they’re so easy to pack and wash when traveling. Worth the investment, you’ll have these forever!

  • Jean shorts: I wear these in a city with a linen shirt or in the countryside at the mills in an XL tee. EASY.

  • Workout shorts: it’s been so hot in Europe this summer so I’ve basically lived in these Lulu shorts.

  • Adidas Sneakers: I’ve worn these all year, have had zero blisters, and have happily walked 10k+ steps in them daily.

  • Nice to Matcha: now in the UK (yay!). I use this matcha daily and travel with a tin.

  • Espresso Machine: I’ve really been getting into coffee, more on that next week… but this machine makes it easy to appreciate a special bean. My boyfriend has this Breville in Cape Town so we had to copy it here in London.

  • How to make any fun syrup at home here!

  • Watermelon: we grew our own again this year and thank goodness because I can’t stop making watermelon mint jelly and then pickling the rindSpeaking of, my mom has just requested a fresh batch so I guess I know what I’m doing this afternoon.

  • Pie dough: whether you’re making a summery fruit tarte, a brunch quiche, or an impressive (yet easy) Tarte Tatin to bring to a dinner or picnic this dough will work for them all. Sweet and savory power horse!

  • Biltong: sue me, I’ve been spending too much time in South Africa. M-eat is my favorite brand out of the UK!

  • Bundle-and-Save on Expedia: it all started as a brand partnership but now it’s genuinely how my family books everything. The B & S discount is SO good that I’ve already used it for all of my fall trips whether it’s for hotel + flight or car rentals too.
