Happy Friday, friends! This was the first day all summer that actually felt a bit chillier, and it’s got me itching for fall! Summer in NYC is simply not for me, and I’m already scheming how I can be elsewhere for a good chunk of July/early August next year, when it’s at its sweatiest and stinkiest over here. But before I fully mentally relocate to fall, I’m trying to soak up the few things summer does exceptionally well—mainly, tomatoes. I’m consuming every good one (doused in olive oil+flaky salt & pep)/ordering every tomato-focused dish I come across.
In today’s newsletter, you’ll find a mix of current happenings and a few early-fall things to get excited about. Enjoy!
But first…
Tuesday’s newsletter included some studio apartment updates as well as finishing touch decor finds all under $100!

Still Here just opened their newest NYC store on Christopher St. I just got the sport jeans in pear and yes, they really are that good. I’ve been wearing them nonstop for the last two weeks. 89 Christopher Street
Abercrombie x Abbode, brought together an iconic Americana brand with a NYC based founder-led small business known for its strong community and signature personalized embroidery, on an NYC-inspired capsule collection.
Embroidered Overalls / Bra-free 90’s Seamless Cami in White and Striped / Embroidered Denim Pouch / High Rise 90’s Relaxed Embroidered Jean / Embroidered Denim Tote / Low Rise Ultra Loose Embroidered Jean / Oversized Embroidered Shirt
The collab came to life with an intimate dinner at Revelie Diner in SoHo, playing off the Americana charm of an old-school diner, but fully customized in true Abbode fashion. Patty melts and milkshakes were served alongside espresso martinis and spritzes, with a vintage taxi parked outside for photo ops. Inside, custom crossword placemats and crayons encouraged some impromptu creativity, ofc, while denim napkins embroidered with each guest’s name and an icon from the collection doubled as place cards. Take-home treats included a special NYC-inspired ice cream flavor from woman-owned Crosby Street Creamery and classic Denim Diner mugs.
My top is the Abbode x Abercrombie 90s bra free seamless Cami. Red chore jacket is sadly sold out but this is a really similar one and it’s on sale! Jeans are the Ultra Loose Low Rise. I loooove that they’re in a rigid denim. Stretch of any kind is NOT for me.

Nara is coming back to NYC!! We already got the word late last year that David Zwirner would represent Yoshitomo Nara, but now we have more concrete news: starting October 29, a major exhibition of Nara’s work will take over two of Zwirner’s Chelsea galleries. His first major NYC solo exhibition in nearly a decade, the show will span more than 40 years of his work!
Gabriela Mifusd, an artist whose whimsical work is high, high on my list of dream pieces for my apartment, is popping up in Williamsburg Sept 17-20. She will be painting live, showing new works, and will also be offering custom chain stitching!
Botero in New York, an exhibition of over 20 pieces of Fernando Botero’s art is on view now at Sothebys through September 7. I’ll be checking out this exhibit this weekend! 945 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021.

Graciela, a new Argentine tavern in the West Village, is the restaurant on everyone’s lips/Open table notify list. It’s an offshoot of one of Buenes Aires most popular steakhouses and the menu features mouthwatering dishes an Ossobuco Empanada and NY Strip Steak Milanesa (which I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about). Open Table here
Mum’s NYC is a drum roll please… FRUIT CRUMBLE SHOP opening this fall in SoHo. Seems to be a Humble Crumble-esque concept for custard and crumble lovers living in NYC (me). Can’t wait for this one!! Coming soon to 241 Mulberry St
Cafe Sabarsky just got an official re-opening date after extensive renovations and it’s October 1. However, I’d hold off on going until mid-November when the Neue Galerie reopens for the perfect cozy fall artist’s date browsing the galleries & finishing off with a hot capp and pastry.
TASTES LIKE SUMMER!!! Apollo Bagels has a seasonal special: nectarines with honey and cream cheese at their Tribeca location 121 Reade street. Edith’s summer favorite, a BLT with smoked corn aioli on challah, is still around and they’re increasing orders due to a large harvest of heirlooms! Daily Provisions also has ALT, avocado lettuce and tomato sandwich here for a limited time.
In sparkly news…
Madeline of Crumbs of NYC collabed with Dream Bean Cafe on a pink cupcake matcha served in a hand-bedazzled cup! If you haven’t tried one yet, I’m sure you’ve seen them all over your feed because they instantly went viral. So much love for Maddie and this collab—in true Crumbs fashion, she’s bringing even more recognition to a local small business while building community through whimsy, maximalism, and fun!
