Hey friend,

How are you?

You may have heard of the 500 Rohingya asylum seekers whose boat disappeared off the coast of Myanmar recently, presumably lost at sea.

It’s a tragedy for a long-persecuted people fleeing conflict in Myanmar; their only other choice to become stateless in overcrowded, impoverished refugee camps in Bangladesh.

Some choose a perilous third option - attempting a sea crossing to Malaysia; putting their lives in the hands of predatory people smugglers and indifferent local maritime authorities, who can fail to respond to SOS calls.

On the other side of the sea, South Africa aims to become a cholera and polio vaccine hub.

Africa currently imports more than 99% of the vaccines it uses (wild!) so producing home grown versions is an efficient step towards eradicating these nasty diseases.

All eyes are now on the UK’s new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, and the future of British foreign aid.

Here’s hoping the UK steps forward as a global leader.

The need has never been greater.

Meanwhile, those of us who believe in communicating the greater good plod on.

And to spur your way, I give you this week’s 43 brand new comms roles.

Note that some are only open for a few days or are closing soon, so don’t delay.

As you know, the Comms 4 Development Jobs Board is a weekly list of paid roles (no volunteer or intern roles) and carefully curated by yours truly.

It’s for communications professionals in the global development sector.

All roles are handpicked and open to non-locals, in developing countries only.

You won’t find anything else like it.

And it’s delivered straight to your inbox bright and early every Tuesday morning (AEST) (except for today!). For the bargain price of $US10/month.

Paid subscribers get the full deal, 2 hours ahead of everyone else, while free subscribers get 10 roles picked at random.

I do the hard yards finding these gigs so you don’t have to! You’re welcome.
