The Israeli government is attempting to sue the New York Times for defamation over Nicholas Kristof’s reporting of sexual abuse and rape in Israeli colonial dungeons in their newest public relations fumble. As they scramble to avoid discussions of the violence Israeli forces have committed against Palestinians in their custody, it is worth diving into the horrific reality Palestinians face at the hands of their captors.
Using in-depth accounting from Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor and survivor testimony collected within their recent report “Another Genocide Behind Walls”, we can get a glimpse of the unspeakable horrors Palestinians are being put through in the name of advancing Zionist colonial interests. Their experiences paint an honest picture of the reality of the Zionist project and need to be known and discussed, especially as Zionist actors try to suppress conversation surrounding it all.
This video contains a discussion of graphic sexual violence covered in one section of the larger report. For more in-depth witness testimony and expanded discussion around the complicity of the Israeli healthcare system, I would strongly suggest reading the full Euro-Med Monitor report (as well as countless other testimonies from Palestinians who have experienced this and other violence at the hands of Zionist actors). Until every Palestinian held hostage within the confines of Israeli colonial dungeons is free, there remains work to be done.
If you would like to support those in the Palestinian prisoner solidarity movement, you can contact or donate to Samidoun, an international network of organizers and activists working to build solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in their struggle for freedom. No one is free until we are all free.
