It’s clear that while the majority of people world-wide are climate-concerned, the image of the climate activist fits a certain kind of niche. According to More in Common and Climate Outreach audience segmentation, these are Progressive Activists … and, let’s face it, sometimes this group can be pretty annoying. From the beginning, the Climate Majority Project’s mission has been to activate the majority of the climate concerned population including people who are not the usual suspects.

A key part of this work is for people inside of the usual activist circles to become more self-aware: what are the narratives that drive this kind of activism – when do these get in the way of being as effective as we could?

… are common scripts in the activist space which can be pretty off-putting to a lot of people who maybe agree on a lot of the same issues but who might prefer a more conservative or pragmatic approach to addressing them.
