Hello from Clemo,
Sunshine is on it’s way and it is perfectly timed to welcome Independent Bookshop Week. Saturday 13 - Saturday 20 June is a celebration of indie bookshops across the UK, huzzah! Read on to see what’s happening in Clemo Books, how you can get involved and the deals to grab.
Thank you all for supporting our indie bookshop, supporting the Cornish high street and supporting the authors who write the books that we sell. Jaimie x
Check out our events page to see what’s coming up. On Saturday 13 June, 11am, we’ll have author Amanda James in store for a book signing to celebrate her new novel The Secret Library. We’ll be at the Alma Artspace event on Tuesday 16 June with writer Hettie Judah talking all about getting back into art - get tickets here. And on Saturday 20 June, 10am, we’ll have a storytelling session in Clemo Books for youngsters.
Throughout Independent Bookshop Week we’ll be giving away free £5 High Five tokens to any Clemo Books customers who spend over £20. The vouchers are a National Book Token scheme and can be spent anywhere that accepts them. Spend £20 in Clemo Books and get a free £5 voucher to use next time you visit a bookshop, really it’s like you’re saving money (bookworm maths…)
Penguin Books have sent us 20 of these gorgeous shop indie tote bags featuring Alan the penguin. Any punters who purchase 3 Penguin books in one transaction during Independent Bookshop Week will receive a free tote bag to keep forever and ever. No one needs a new tote, but we all want more. Chant with us: totes, totes, totes!
Tickets are selling fast for our event with Robin Ince on Thursday 25 June, 7pm, down at The Pagan Arms. It could be a perfect Father’s Day gift for the Dad in your life that perhaps has neurodiverse traits but has never been diagnosed… Tickets on sale now, books available on the evening and Robin will be signing too!
Thanks for reading! This post is public so feel free to share it.
