Hey squad,

Looks like Anthropic is joining the anti-slop party after LinkedIn added an “ai slop report” button that I wrote about last week.

Starting this week, text from Claude models will include a hidden watermark that holds when you copy/ paste, and can even survive a bit of editing. The EU AI Act initially enforced this, but important to note that it’s live worldwide.

It’ll be much easier for universities, social platforms and others to spot ai written copy. I’m all about this because otherwise the web was on pace to getting cluttered with unoriginal slop.

It’s like a smoke detector.

I expect OpenAI and others to follow suit, and for there to be a slew of startups that try to combat this. Ugh.

The roles losing the most ground are social media coordinators, copywriters and SEO managers.
If you run auto-created assets or campaign-level broad match setting, those campaigns will convert to AI Max for Search on Sep 1. Search-term matching and text customization will be flipped on by default.
OpenAI's has been spotted testing a format where clicking an ad drops you into a ChatGPT convo instead of a landing page. The chat will answers questions, surface products, and capture leads. What’s neat is that ChatGPT crawls your site to build the chat profile on its own.
A new IDC InfoBrief says brands that aren't ready for agent-driven shopping will lose 25% of their market. They also found that 42% of consumers already use ai tools to shop. No surprise here. This means getting your site ready for agents: structured, machine-readable text.

xAI dropped Grok Bot - a team of always-on ai agents that each get their own cloud computer and can run multi-step work unsupervised. I’ve done light testing and will write more about it in my next post.
Search Console now tracks your social - shows how your IG, TikTok, X, and YT posts perform in Google Search.
LinkedIn is now hunting ai comments - it’s blocking hundreds of thousands of automated comments a day, and Pangram found 30% of comments are fully ai-written.
Lindy shipped a big update - they’ve pivoted various times, and this time they’re shipping an ai coworker that works with you inside of Slack (Viktor?)
xAI also launched Grok Imagine 2.0 - which includes 3 new editing tools: Magic Wand, Segmentation, Smart Resize.
AdAnt AI made it to #1 on Product Hunt - it’s pitched as “Claude for viral social ads” by studying what’s working on TikTok, IG, and YouTube. It then spits out 20-30 ad variants a batch for $39/mo, with a Claude plugin coming.
