PCB upstream material price hike wave continues to expand. Nan Ya Plastics’ Electronic Materials Division recently issued a price increase notice to customers, announcing that copper-clad laminate (CCL) and prepreg (PP) prices will be raised by 20–25%, effective from September 1, 2026, based on the actual shipment date.
Subsequent price adjustment moves by downstream CCL manufacturers such as Elite Material (EMC), Taiwan Union Technology (TUC), and Iteq, as well as PCB manufacturers toward their customers, will become the key focus for market observation in the next stage.
Price hike confirmed, but not a one-time across-the-board increase
Market rumors recently circulated that Nan Ya had issued a price hike letter to customers, stating that due to sharp rises in costs of raw materials such as copper foil, fiberglass cloth, and resin, substrate and base material selling prices would each be raised by 20%. Nan Ya confirmed that the price increase is factual, but clarified that the document was not an official company-wide price increase notice. Instead, it was email content from individual price negotiation processes with certain customers that had been intercepted.
