So picture this:
It's 2023, and I'm sitting in a coffee shop trying to figure out why building my business feels like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
Around me, my male entrepreneur friends are crushing it with their 5am wake-ups, ice baths, gym sessions, and "hustle harder" mantras—basically treating their bodies like machines that can run 16-hour days without ever needing to, you know, feel things or rest.
Meanwhile, I'm over here like:
"Why do I need a business bestie to brainstorm with? And why does every marketing strategy feel like I'm being asked to become a used car salesman at a carnival?"
Why can't I just power through my period like X does with his... well, his complete and blissful lack of periods?
I thought I was broken.
Plot twist:
I was just operating with a uterus in a testosterone-fueled world.
Who knew?
And after three years of helping both men and women build their online presence, followed by two years of diving deep into research rabbit holes about why women are the way we are, I've discovered something that might just make you feel like you've been handed the missing puzzle piece:
The way women naturally want to build businesses isn't wrong, it's actually the secret sauce the world has been missing.
Let me tell you about my partnership obsession phase.
Last year, I was convinced I needed to find another woman to build with.
I felt weak, needy, like I couldn't hack it solo while the bros were out there building all by themselves.
But there is something our ancestors knew that we forgot:
Women have always thrived in community.
Before the industrial age turned us into isolated productivity machines, women lived, worked, and created together.
We gathered food in groups.
We raised children collectively.
We even had cycles that would sync up when living in close community.
Martha McClintock's famous 1971 study documented this "menstrual synchrony" phenomenon, and while scientists still debate the mechanism, I've definitely experienced it firsthand with roommates and business partners.
What we now dismiss as "gossip" was actually a sophisticated information-sharing network that kept entire communities alive.
Anthropologist Robin Dunbar's research on social group dynamics shows that building social bonds through conversation was crucial for group survival—we literally evolved to collaborate, not compete.
So when you feel like you "need" community to build your business?
That's not weakness talking.
That's thousands of years of feminine wisdom saying:
“Hey girl, we're stronger together.” :)
We bleed. Every. Single. Month.
Our bodies are basically nature's way of giving us a monthly masterclass in cycles, death, rebirth, and renewal.
We have built-in seasons:
- Menstrual phase (Winter): Time to go inward, rest, reflect
- Follicular phase (Spring): Creative energy rising, new ideas blooming
- Ovulatory phase (Summer): Peak social energy, time to collaborate and share
- Luteal phase (Autumn): Harvest time, completion energy, then back to winter
But not only:
we either bleed with the full moon (White Moon Cycle, traditionally the "mother" energy focused on nurturing) or the new moon (Red Moon Cycle, traditionally the "wise woman" energy focused on creativity and magic).
Ancient cultures recognized these patterns and structured society around women's natural rhythms.
Meanwhile, business gurus are out here telling us to "push through" and maintain consistent energy 365 days a year.
Um, excuse me? My ovaries would like a word with your productivity planner.
After working with dozens of women, I've noticed some patterns that made me go “Aha!” instead of “Ugh, why are we like this?”
A woman will call her venture “my little baking side hustle” (how cute) while a man calls his identical business “CEO & Founder of Premium Artisanal Dessert Solutions, Disrupting the Global Luxury Frosting Market.”
Research documented in “The Confidence Code” by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman shows women consistently underestimate their abilities while men overestimate theirs—a phenomenon called the confidence gap.
But what if our "realistic" self-assessment is actually... realistic?
What if we're not broken, but the system that rewards overconfidence is?
I've watched men charge €1,500 for a one-hour call while women charge that same amount for a month of intensive work.
But here's what I think is really happening:
we intuitively understand that true value comes from transformation, not transaction. we want to serve deeply, not extract quickly.
The problem isn't our pricing but that we're playing in a marketplace that doesn't value depth.
Those “scarcity-driven, FOMO-inducing, buy-now-or-regret-forever” sales tactics?
They make most women's skin crawl.
Not because we're bad at business, but because we can feel the manipulation from a mile away.
Studies by Simon Baron-Cohen show women have more active mirror neurons, making us more sensitive to others' emotions.
Of course slimy sales tactics feel gross to us.
We're built to sense authenticity.
Here's where it gets really exciting.
The world is shifting, and everything that made us feel "wrong" for business is about to become exactly right.
AI is changing everything.
Machines are taking over the mechanical, and what's left is the deeply human: creativity, intuition, connection, collaboration.
The slow life movement is exploding because people are realizing that grinding yourself into dust for money maybe isn't the point of being alive.
Astrologically speaking (stay with me, skeptics), we're transitioning from the Age of Pisces (follow the guru, worship the authority) to the Age of Aquarius (collective wisdom, individual sovereignty, community power).
This shift represents a move from hierarchical structures to collaborative networks.
And who has thousands of years of experience with collaborative networks?
*raises hand enthusiastically*
I'm seeing it everywhere online now—women creating different kinds of businesses:
- Collaborative over competitive: Supporting each other's launches instead of seeing them as threats
- cyclical over constant: honoring rest and renewal as part of the creative process
- community over conquest: building networks that lift everyone up
- authentic over aggressive: marketing through genuine connection rather than manipulation
This isn't some woo-woo fantasy.
This is women finally saying: “You know what? Let's stop trying to win at a game that was never designed for us. Let's create our own game.”
The businesses that will thrive in this new landscape aren't the ones that can hustle hardest or shout loudest.
They're the ones that can:
- build genuine community (hello, feminine superpower)
- create authentic connection (another one of our specialties)
- navigate complexity with intuition (we've been doing this since birth)
- collaborate rather than compete (literally in our DNA)
- honor natural rhythms (built into our biology)
The future doesn't need more aggressive marketers.
It needs more heart-centered creators who can build bridges, hold space, and create experiences that actually serve people.
Sound familiar? yeah, that's because you already know how to do this.
I truly believe the future is feminine,
NOT because women will dominate, but because feminine values will finally be recognized as essential:
collaboration over competition, sustainability over extraction, depth over surface, community over isolation.
And honestly? It's about damn time.
The internet was built by and for a very specific type of person (spoiler: not us).
But we're here now, and we're not trying to fit into their boxes anymore.
We're building our own spaces, our own ways of doing business, our own definitions of success.
we're creating the Sisterhood Algorithm
where supporting each other's success becomes the pathway to our own, where rest is productive, where cycles are honored, where authentic connection beats aggressive promotion EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Want to be part of this shift? I'm creating something special for women who are ready to build businesses that honor their cyclical nature, leverage their collaborative superpowers, and create success without sacrificing their souls.
to be the first to know when it opens—plus get access to our private community where the sisterhood algorithm is already in full effect.
Because the future of business isn't about becoming more like men.
It's about the world finally becoming ready for what we've always known how to do.
The revolution will be feminine. And it's going to be beautiful 🥹
What part of this resonated most with you?
Hit reply and let me know—I read every single email and love hearing your thoughts.
With love,
Chiara
P.S.
If you're thinking “but what about women who don't have periods?” or “what about non-binary folks?” — you're absolutely right to bring this up.
The cyclical wisdom applies to anyone who resonates with these natural rhythms, regardless of biology. The future I'm envisioning has space for all of us who are ready to honor depth over hustle.
