There is plenty of rated chess coming up over the next few weeks, from weekday rapid and standard events to weekend congresses, evening blitz and the Mind Sports Olympiad.

I’m looking forward to organising our first international chess tournament at the historic Tate Institute, just a four-minute walk from London City Airport DLR station.
The congress has four sections:
FIDE Under 2400
FIDE Under 1900
FIDE Under 1600
ECF Under 1400
There are five rounds across the weekend, with guaranteed prizes in every section.
Saturday: 10.30am, 2pm and 5.30pm
Sunday: 11am and 2.30pm

These weekday events are ideal for anyone who wants a full day of rated chess without giving up a weekend.

Time control: 20 minutes plus 5 seconds per move
♟️ Standard: two FIDE and ECF-rated games
Time control: 60 minutes plus 30 seconds per move
There is a lunch break and we aim to finish before 5.30pm.

Brainstormchess FIDE Blitz Grand Prix

Our regular North West London rapidplay offers six FIDE and ECF-rated rounds at a time control of 20 minutes plus 5 seconds per move.

A nine-round classical tournament for players rated 2000+ FIDE, with a prize fund of £4,000.
