WEDNESDAY 1 JULY — BRAINSTORMCHESS FIDE BLITZ GRAND PRIX
London Mindsports Centre, W6
7.30pm–10pm
A good one if you want a sharp midweek FIDE blitz hit without giving up your weekend.

THURSDAY 2 JULY — HENDON FIDE BLITZ
Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club, NW6
6 rounds, 10 minutes each. Hosted by Hendon Chess Club, but open to all.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this one — Hendon blitz nights are always lively.

4–5 JULY — NORTHAMPTON FIDE CONGRESS
A weekend FIDE-rated congress, with sections including Under 2400.

11–12 JULY — SILVERTOWN (Docklands) FIDE CONGRESS (see above pic for venue)
Sections include Under 2400 and Under 1900.
This is one to consider if you want proper weekend chess without travelling too far. Right next to London City Airport!

TUESDAY 7 and 14 JULY CLISSOLD ARMS / MUSWELL HILL FIDE CHESS
The Clissold Arms, Muswell Hill
These Tuesday events are ideal if you like weekday chess: choose from FIDE/ECF-rated rapid games or standard-play chess, depending on the event format.
I always like these because they give players a proper chess day with great food and free parking.

SATURDAY 18 JULY — GOLDERS GREEN FIDE & ECF RAPID

Sections include Open, Under 1900, Under 1600 and Under 1100.

I’ll be in the Netherlands for this one — a proper chess weekend away, and a nice excuse for a Rotterdam trip.
