Redwood + World Cup

I got lucky presale world cup tickets for the US v Australia game in Seattle, so made a mini trip of it. On the drive north I stopped at Redwood NP to admire the big trees 🙄🌲 Then made my way up to Portland where I attended a river restoration course Monday-Thursday before the big game Friday. I picked up my buddy Chris from the airport and we got swagged out in our USA gear. The “Vegemite Free…

Rocky Mountain

Siblings trip to Colorado! The first night we saw one of my favorite bands, Flipturn, at red rocks. The next day we hiked in Rocky Mountain NP - crazy enough at the trailhead we happened to park next to the people we sat next to at the concert the night prior. Never tell me the odds. The following day we explored Denver and then were back in California before you knew it. Lexi wins award for most…

NorCal + Trip End

A big driving day landed us at Lake Shasta. We rented a boat and went fishing for spotted bass. Theo caught one on a hand line, as well as a huge tree branch. We then headed to Yosemite and lucked out with a last minute campsite on the valley floor. We did some hiking and rock appreciating under misty skies. We touched back down in Oakland with 187,299 miles on the speedometer, for a total of…

Our friends Connor and Erin came down from Vancouver and joined in on the fun. We continued on to Olympic National Park and camped in dense forest right on the coast. We spent the day in the Hoh Rainforest and kept…

Tetons-Yellowstone

Spent 5 days between Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. Wildlife fully on. Bison, elk, black bears, bald eagles, snakes, big horn sheep, coyotes (which we thought were wolves). We didn’t have to use the bear spray, but that certainly didn’t keep us from running bear spray drills at any moment’s notice.

Arches + Salt Lake City

On the way to Salt Lake City we stopped at Arches National Park for a quick hike to delicate arch. In Salt Lake we stayed with my Uncle Chad and Aunt Susan and were treated to incredible meals including pork tomatillo stew, chile relleno and egg mexican lasagna, and salmon curry. We did some thrift shopping and explored a bit around Salt Lake while the snow came down❄️
