Marriage…
A word that comes and comes again as days, months, years pass by.
Sometimes a first. Other times a re-marriage. Sometimes second marriage, a third marriage, and so forth (let’s not leave out Maude Findlay with her three marriages before she got with Walter Findlay, lol).
Marriage...
What is the meaning of marriage?
Some say it’s just a writing on a piece of legal papers.
Some say it’s the flow of life itself.
Some say it’s not really an important thing to think or dream about.
Some say it’s evil and will always result in divorce one way or another.
Interesting perspectives of marriage, indeed. And marriages come and come again, despite all these meanings, including the disheartening ones.
Marriage to me is a word that should be sacred as it has for thousands of years. It’s been going on since the rise of humankind. Same with reproduction.
And really, they didn’t need a piece of paper during the caveman/woman years. Those years was selective of a mate and starting a family to grow the communities they built. There was never a divide between man and woman then. Each were to their own responsibilities in the household. Each had their jobs to take care of in their own communities.
Now, fast forward to modern era, we have more jobs, more freedoms due to the easiness of things thanks to our technological advances, and this gives both sexes the leeway to work outside the household and we are each our nations now, so we’re all together to help each other out when needed.
Sure, World War II changed everything. It gave women the taste for liberation to be a working citizen while the men were off to war. But really, this was going to happen one way to another, as technological advances kept marching forward. Women possibly would’ve wanted to taste that very taste of being independent. Housework has become much easier than ever, and will continue to be so once robots, smart devices, and other technological perks are added to our livelihood equation.
And sure, again, jobs may lessen for men and women alike when robots replace them, but... the main business perk, as Andrew Tate has mentioned before in a video of his, is to rule a business of those very robots and technological devices. That that is something that will make you a lot of money than today.
But what does this have to do with marriage?
It has nothing to do with feminism that stands for women liberation. Feminism had its glory days of victory when women were given their civil rights (thanks to men). Nowadays, they are mostly just angry marriage-less women who try to ruin the future of other women by spreading their hatred to marriage and the future of humankind. They try to tarnish the beauty and sacredness that comes of marriage, and this, in turn, affects how women see men, and men see women.
Marriage is to be seen as a sacred bond between two or more people (we’ll include the Mormons, lol), and it’s to be a cherished bond to the very end, or until the final breath in this world. It’s where you treat each other as the ones who will fight for each other, love for each other, and survive for each other. Most of all, support each other as the other has supported you.
It’s like feeding coal to the flames for a train engine to keep going. You must give and give and give to the other, as they give and give and give back to you.
No matter whatever is the issue, you stay to support, to love, to cherish, and to appreciate. And when things get tough, you do what you can to be the strongest as you can for the other. Whether that be they are in the hospital due to health issues, or when you lose your job and need to find another to pay the bills, or when you feel helpless due to something that wears you down and have trouble fighting back (e.g. depression, PTSD, drug addiction, etc.).
The significance of marriage is to have the partner(s) that you can trust and appreciate and respect and love to be by your side so that you’re never alone to fight your demons and the hurdles that life will always make along the way.
Marriage is leverage.
It’s safety.
It’s knowing that whatever happens, someone has your back and you have their back when they have their own demons and hurdles to jump over.
It’s a give/take/give situation.
You can’t always take, take, take. You have to give back as much as you can, not just with gifts, but through emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual perspectives on both sides of the spectrum in terms of marriage.
Marriage isn’t about how much money you bank, how big of a place you live, how expensive of a car you drive, or how and what you work.
Marriage is supported by faith in the other as the other has faith in you.
Support, love, peace, respect, adoration, appreciation, acceptance, and faith bring all the elements to a healthy and powerful marriage together.
Everybody wants to put a success rate on marriage.
No!
Marriage is not just something for a success rate to be slapped onto it like the amount of butter slapped on toast!
It’s more sacred than that.
You can give a success rate to a product, but never to a mutual bond between human beings. Nobody puts a success rate on animals when they become partners, and, news flash, we’re part of the Animal Kingdom, whether we like it or not.
A marriage is powerful and sometimes its weak and/or dead due to faulty choices and decisions or lack of care.
Marriage is even more based on the devotion of the partners involved. It’s nothing about how far they are willing to go. It’s about how they will push through anything that comes their way to tear them apart. It’s about surviving. It’s about making sure that the end never comes if you don’t let it happen.
To end a marriage is all done by the choices you or the other makes. It’s all in your ballpark whether to keep shooting hoops and winning, or to keep on missing on purpose so that your team (your marriage) loses.
Marriage isn’t easy. It’s meant to be challenging because that is life. Not every marriage is perfect. Sometimes it has its rough patches. But rough patches should never have to shadow anything. What you do, what you say, how you progress onwards should always outshine all the challenges and struggles in the past, and in the present, and in the future.
That is a true marriage.
The marriage that never stops giving. The marriage that never stops thriving.
You have to fight for your marriage for it to survive. If you don’t fight for it, you’ll never win to keep it.
And that is the simplicity, as well as the complexity, of a true marriage.
