As much as it might seem like being high maintenance comes with this job territory... I am actually unbelievably low maintenance when it comes to getting ready.
I hate the process. Hair, makeup, spending an hour getting ready... no thank you. I am a legitimate ninja when it comes to how quickly I can get myself out the door.
BUT, I love really good products. Products that work, products where less is more, and products that that don’t irritate my skin.
I definitely have lighter makeup days when I use even less than this, but when I want a nice, natural, photo-ready finish, this is my routine. This is exactly what I did every morning in New York — five minutes total, start to finish.
For a little more coverage, I love my Too Faced foundation (I wear shade warm nude). It gives such a pretty, photo-ready finish without feeling too heavy.
I use ONE pump on the back of my hand, tap it around my face with my foundation brush, and then blend. I finish with a damp Beauty Blender, lightly bouncing it over my skin to smooth everything out.
NARS radiant creamy concealer (I wear shade madeleine) has been a favorite for years.
I do a few dots under each eye, around the corners/base of my nose, and a tiny bit on the tip. Then I use my Beauty Blender to tap — not wipe! — it into my skin. I swear you get better coverage this way.
I LOVE the Merit Bronze Balm in Sienne.
I swipe it underneath my cheekbones, around my forehead, along my nose, chin + jawline, and a little down my neck. Maybe this isn’t how the kids are contouring these days 😂 but it works for me!
I blend it all in with the Merit Blending Brush.
The Merit Flush Balm is probably my favorite blush I’ve tried, and La Bon Bon is my current color. It’s the prettiest pinky-red and works so well with my skin tone.
I add it to my cheeks, blend with the Merit brush, and usually dab a little onto my lips too.
A light dusting of Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder sets everything and takes away any extra shine without making my makeup feel overly matte.
If I’m going to dinner, taking photos, or just want a little more, I’ll add my Ravie Beauty Baked Blush with their blush brush + a little DIBS Beauty bronzer duo for extra warmth.
Totally optional, but both make such a difference!
I use the warmer, golden shade of the Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balm underneath my brows, on the tops of my cheekbones, and a tiny bit along the bridge/tip of my nose.
The key is lightly tapping it in so you get a glow... not a stripe of highlighter.
Merit Tinted Brow Gel in Brown. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
This is honestly one of the only products I’ll put on even when I’m not doing my makeup. It takes seconds and gives my brows + eyes so much more definition.
The Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks are my favorite because they’re SO easy.
Rose Gold all over → Burnished Bronze from the middle to outer corner → Cocoa in the crease.
I’ll also add a little brown eyeliner when I want more definition, but I’m currently looking for a new favorite... so send me yours!
Last step: DIBS Beauty mascara — my favorite clean mascara I’ve tried.
The brush has two sides: a finer side to separate + define and a fluffier side to build volume. I love that I can get really full lashes without them looking clumpy.
And that’s it! My five-minute natural glam.
Nothing revolutionary or overly complicated... just really good products that make me feel polished without looking overly made up. I’ll link every product, shade, brush + Beauty Blender below so you can shop the exact routine.
And PLEASE leave your holy grail beauty products in the comments... I’m always looking for something new to try!
xx
