Welcome to the very first letter of our A to Z Challenge! If you’re new here, here’s the idea: every two weeks, we’re living inside a new letter of the alphabet. That means activities, outings, snacks, books, movies- all centered around one letter. I’ve been making these guides for a few years now and I finally decided to bring them onto this platform!

The goal isn’t to do everything on this list. You just pick a few things that feel fun and doable for your family. It’s a fun way to learn about letters and truly immerse yourself in them, while also just giving us moms something to do that breaks up the day to day monotony.

I did all the planning for you to keep this as simple as possible. And I’m including my 35 page letter A activity PDF for my paid subscribers in case you need it and want to have every idea in one place.

This week’s letter is A, and there is so much good stuff in here. Let’s get into it.

Fill a bin with any sensory base- you can use rice, easter grass, oats, pasta, etc. Then add the letter Aa (I used magnets, wooden letters, and resin letters) to your bin as well as objects around your home that start with that letter. I also like to include cups and bowls to encourage more time spent playing with the bin as they explore everything that’s inside. Older kids can help you find items to add to the bin while you can label items for toddlers to help with language development and letter recognition.
