CCV Special Reminder

For nearly one year now we’ve been publicly discussing the possibility of merging CCV with Spirit of Christ Church in Haslett. It’s now official; both Boards of Elders have voted to pursue joining forces and begun to work out the details of How to proceed. We intend to meet together for Worship once in November and once in December (Date TBD). We’ll also come together for a Fire By Night gathering on Sunday, November 31st and a Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24th.

We had a great united worship gathering last Sunday, November 12th, at SOCC, as we begin to work toward these two streams (CCV and SOCC) converging. The Elders of both churches are united in believing that this opportunity is an invitation from God for greater vitality and fruitfulness. We believe we can be better and more effective joining and working together than we have been apart.

Our hope and intention is to officially bring the two churches together in January 2026 after the new year, allowing time for several important remaining details to be worked out in the meantime.

As we work through these details, please continue to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, and provision as we pursue what He is calling and inviting us to do together. With this vision in mind, we have begin three weeks (21 days) of concentrated daily prayer through Jesus’ ‘High-Priestly Prayer’ in John 17. This email update is just a quick reminder to join us as we pray into what God is calling us to.

The following special events are upcoming opportunities for us to come together, worship and pray together, and begin to build new relationships so that we can all walk and work together as we follow Jesus into this kingdom adventure.

Sunday, November 9th: Beginning of 21 Day Season of Prayer to prepare for Merging.

Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00pm: Corporate Prayer gathering for the SOCC/CCV merger held at the House of Prayer in East Lansing.

Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00pm: Corporate Prayer gathering for the SOCC/CCV merger held at the House of Prayer in East Lansing.

Tuesday, November 25th at 7:00pm: Corporate Prayer gathering for the SOCC/CCV merger held at the House of Prayer in East Lansing.

Sunday, November 30th at 6:00pm: Fire By Night Worship Gathering

As we move decisively toward this merger, we want to bathe the process in prayer for wisdom and guidance. To that end, we’re inviting both churches to engage in 21 Days of Prayer, using John 17 (verse-by-verse) as a prayer guide. This beautiful and compelling passage contains Jesus’ prayer for his disciples, and especially for their unity, just before he went to the cross.
