the internet will tell you to “pick a lane” but baby, I’m just a six lane Texas highway with several overpasses that look like they go to nowhere. some go in circles. welcome to my own concoction of chaos. it’s really fun and unexpected here I promise. true story: I was nominated in high school for “most unpredictable” and while I didn’t win it then, I think I’d win it now lol.

for a while i actually tried to niche down. every piece of advice said the same thing: pick one thing, own it, repeat it until people know you for exactly that. and i tried. I really did. but remember the post I wrote just a few days ago? when it all starts to feel wrong after feeling right, i’m gonna pivot so fast you won’t be able to catch up. unless of course you become a dedicated reader of this Substack and therefore my best friend :)

but the thing about being a self proclaimed retired girlboss turned hoe of many hobbies (did you guy see this trend? I died, it’s so me!!!) is that I don’t have one thing. I have a sourdough starter I’ve kept alive longer than some of my past jobs. I am a die hard cult member of Peloton, obsessed with people’s birth charts and I’m about to a gut a 4,400sqft builder grade colonial room by room and document it for ya. I have decades old beauty rituals I refuse give up and for over a year I’ve been writing a thriller novel I’ve told no one about. picking one lane is giving sophie’s choice and I just won’t be doing it.

so here’s what this little Substack space on the internet actually is: it’s a living, breathing extension of me, my life, my thoughts, my creativity - it’s my whole world documented. not scattered but curated chaos with gusto. and the thesis is this — the version of me that shows up to fold laundry is the same version that’s decoding her gemini moon, repainting a stairwell, and asking why she ever thought overperforming was the same thing as loving her family well. that mom isn’t one lane. she’s a whole intersection interwoven.

but obviously I am a natural (and trained) marketer at heart so I’ve done my best attempt at creating some content pillars for you to get to know what you can expect here besides the totally unexpected.

here’s the map!!

motherhood is where this all starts, and it’s the pillar I’ll never run out of things to say about. and never the highlight-reel version. That Mom is the version where you’re doing the thing and also in your head renegotiating who you are while you do it. this is the mess, the myth, the version of me that exists before I’ve had coffee and the version I’m actively building in the after. always about the experience of motherhood, never a how-to on parenting.

beautiful things is the material pillar, unapologetically because I am after all, just a girl!!! and probably the pillar I’m most excited to create more of! think outfits, makeup, home renos — every builder-grade window I’m about to trim out, every wall I’m about to repaint. I spent 15 years making other people’s beauty brands look good. I’m not about to pretend I stopped caring about beautiful things just because I had kids and a mortgage. wanting my surroundings to feel intentional isn’t shallow. it’s self-respect with good lighting.

becoming is the pillar that started this whole newsletter, if I’m honest. this is identity shifts, self-loyalty, the practice of choosing myself over the “shoulds” we were raised on. astrology lives here too — not as a personality quiz, but as a mirror I use to come home to myself, we are all made of stars aren’t we? this is the internal work nobody sees from the outside, and it’s the work I’ll never stop writing about because it’s never actually finished.

freedom is creative freedom, financial freedom, and every woo-woo tool I’ve used to free myself from my own overthinking mind — tarot, cacao, a stranger’s pendulum at a farmers market, whatever gets me an inch closer to a life that feels expressive instead of contained. this is where I get to be the girl boss again, except now the KPI is “does this feel like my best life.”

so what does that mean for you, dear reader, I say in my best Bridgerton voice. it means the newsletter will rotate — some weeks it’s a raw motherhood essay, some weeks it’s a reno update or an outfit breakdown, some weeks it’s me unpacking my own birth chart or a downward spiral I climbed out of. it means there’s always going to be a week that’s exactly, specifically for you, even if last week wasn’t. it means abundance instead of a content calendar wearing a chic thrifted trench coat.

so tell me — which of these four is the one you’re most excited to read more of? reply and let me know. it’ll tell me exactly what to write next, and honestly, it’s the best way to start actually knowing each other. I want us to be friends!!!

p.s. by the way, these four pillars are today’s starting point, not a life sentence — I reserve the right to shift them as I figure out what you actually want more of :)
