3/1/2026 - A very short post this week

Hello friends,

This time, I barely have anything to show you because I have been so sick with the flu for the past week and a half. My daughter got sick first and then I caught it from her shortly after. I am just finally getting to the point where I can function in my day to day life and take care of my work and my house. For several days, I could not do any artwork and wasn’t even thinking of it because I was so sick.

This is a small painting I made before I got sick, based on one of my photos I took out of the window when we were driving in northern Greece. I sent it off to the Netherlands for The Postcard Art Exhibit. I waited until the last moment to paint it and send it out and I am so thankful that I was able to do it before I got sick. Otherwise, I would have missed the deadline and wouldn’t have been able to send it at all. I’ve participated in the Postcard Art Exhibit (formerly Twitter Art Exhibit) ever since it started, but I always seem to wait until the last minute to send in my submission. I think I procrastinate because of a spirit of fear or perfectionism because I know that others will be viewing my work. And every time I say to myself, “next time I will send it in early…”

Another thing I have been spending some time on is getting used to my new computer. Just before I got sick, I bought a Mac Studio. I have been thinking of switching away from Windows for some time now and after my dad did the same recently, I was inspired to join him. I really like it in several respects, especially since it works so seamlessly with my phone and iPad. But, I am finding there is a learning curve and I am definitely not used to it.
