Plus when you pause to question what's on your mind, you can save yourself a lot of pain

This one is very much inspired to client conversations!

A lot of the time, our thoughts feel like facts... but they’re often not true.

When you’re anxious or struggling with self-worth, your mind can tell you things that sound real, like “I’m not good enough” or “Something will go wrong”

But most of the time, these thoughts are opinions, fears, or guesses... not facts.

Learning to tell the difference between what is actually true and what is just a thought your mind is producing is a powerful and needed skill.

Imagine if someone told you as a child, by the way... you have thousands of thoughts every day and lots of them are not true....

Questioning your thoughts helps you stop getting pulled down by anxious thinking and start seeing things more clearly.

10 questions to ask yourself when you’re overwhelmed with jealousy, anger, or panic

  • Is this thought 100% true?

  • What evidence do I have that this is true?

  • What evidence do I have that it might not be true?

  • Am I assuming something without proof?

  • Am I making a story up in my head?

  • Could there be another explanation for this?

  • Am I jumping to conclusions?

  • Am I focusing only on the negative parts?

  • What would a neutral observer say about this?

  • If a friend had this thought, what would I tell them?

This can honestly slow down the spiral and see your situation more realistically

You guys know I love inner child and somatic work, it’s an absolute irresponsible myth to say this is all ignored just because we are addressing our thoughts too.

It’s not about forcing positive thinking. It’s about getting honest with yourself about what you truly know, and what your mind is adding on top.
