Before We Begin

Welcome, and thanks for being here. I’d planned to start this Substack with something on technology, music, and the unexpected ways our tools shape us — that’s still what this space will mostly be about.

But the world has a way of barging in, so the first real post will take a detour into politics and culture. Think of this as a prelude: most of the time I’ll be writing about instruments, sound, and making things — and every so often, when necessity calls, about the larger stories shaping the world we live in.
