As many of you know, my precious husband, Kurt, passed away a few weeks ago. So, the next weeks or months of articles are probably gonna be stream of consciousness for me because that’s about all I’m capable of doing for a while.
The brain fog that comes with grief has set in, and I find myself not remembering things. I am grateful for the grace of the Almighty that covers all mistakes and for the help of others to get me through this trying time.
I have experienced so much love, support, and kindness from friends, family, and strangers alike. And I want to say how truly grateful I am for you all during this time of loss.
Saying I miss Kurt would be an understatement. When you’re with someone 24/7 for many years, it’s hard to adjust to them not being here physically. My whole life revolved around him—scheduling, activities, shopping, etc. So it’s painful now to do things because my first thought is of him and then the remembering that he is not here. If you’ve lost someone you loved and were a caregiver to, then I am sure that you understand.
And yes, I know that Kurt is happy, expanded, and free, so every time I feel sad, I try to remember that, and I send him my happy thoughts. That being said, the tears still flow down my face, like lava. And the pain is gut-wrenching. My eyes have lost focus due to the crying. To deny that would be dishonest, and I always try to be honest with you, my readers.
I would ask that you continue to hold me in your prayers and send me your loving thoughts.
Finally, thank you to everyone who donated for Kurt’s final expenses. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for your loving-kindness.
“I shall raise my eyes to the mountains, from where will my help come? My help is from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121:1-2
