Just write. Good grief.

Why are you not just writing already?

I’d rather think about writing… What to write about? Who might read it? (… anyone?). Certainly no one, since browser tabs don’t result in words typed (rigorous evidence base of self-evaluation on this one).

An ode (or eulogy?) to all the words I haven’t written for fear of being Off of a Brand that never existed in the first place.

Ideas galore. Time spent thinking about creating my own site like this: [WAY TOO MANY minutes, fine maybe hours] (… still no words).

I should build an app. Or a website (oops… did that). (… still no words).

More YouTube. Maybe I should make videos instead. (Good grief).

Things I’ve contemplated (but not written about) today:

  1. Trust versus Respect: we talk a lot about trust in health care delivery with human providers and, now, how that plays into getting advice and information from AI. My lukewarm take is that Respect is the necessary foundation to even consider the effects of Trust in the first place.

  2. Social Health: As we maxx truly everything health and wellness and longevity, we are seemingly underexploring how to develop meaningful community connection and relationships that probably ultimately have a bigger effect than our sleep score and HRV. Do we need a social health score, something tangible to try to improve? It feels rote, but maybe it’s the mirror people need in order to reflect on what will really make the difference in their quality of life and happiness in their lives lived at the end of the day.

  3. Identity Habits: As a behavioral scientist I’m not bad at developing new habits, which is a (bigtime) relief since I spend a good deal of my day helping others with this. The habits I find the hardest to change are the ones that are most inherently linked to who I am or who I want to be. Writing being a prime example, I’m fighting the fight, worried about it not being right instead of just doing the darn thing.

  4. Post-Purchase NPS Emails: Woof. Seriously. Why do we still send these? Who answers them, actually? As a follow on question, … and in what way is that data helpful? Why aren’t you sending me a discount to my closest store so that I can go in and meet people, maybe buy (more) stuff, and feel good about the fact that you want me as a customer (and you want to meet me to better understand how you can serve me)? (A run-on sentence to showcase my angst, you’re welcome).

  5. How/If the J-Space and Multiple Drafts Model have Compatible Rizz: I mean, cool, you guys.

… look, words! Chalk one up for the Home Team.

NB. I wrote this on the back of a vet bill while I waited/got ghosted on Zoom.
