I missed last week's newsletter.
Not because I forgot, but because I was swamped with work.
Still, I'm making a good habit of writing this newsletter.
And now I’m back, not with fireworks, but with sparks.
Tiny jolts of energy that remind me I’m still alive, still creating, still dreaming.
Here are five microbursts of energy that helped me this week:
Just standing there, bare, letting the sun touch me without barriers. I close my eyes and feel it warming my skin like a slow, silent battery recharge. It’s simple, almost primal. Especially powerful when I forget that I’m allowed to pause and feel (specially in areas that are mostly covered).
When I’m low on energy, I try not to scroll, I study. I think about a scene that lingers in my mind, and I break it down: the pacing, the framing, the tension before the line drops. I ask myself why it works, why it moves me. It’s like reverse engineering a spell, and somehow, in doing that, I find my own spark again.
Sometimes I grab a pen and just move it. No goal, no meaning, no plan. Lines, circles, spirals, whatever. The point isn’t to make something good, it’s to feel my hand moving, my mind loosening. It reminds me that creativity doesn’t always need a destination.
Whether it’s a shower, a splash on the face, or a gulp of icy water, there’s something primal about it. Like shaking the dust off. Like telling my body: wake up, we’re not done yet.
Not big truths. Just real ones. “I’m tired.” “I missed you.” “That made me laugh.” “I always treasure that one time we …”. Those little truths have energy in them. They travel fast. They come back even faster.
I’ve realized energy doesn’t always come from doing more.
Sometimes it’s just in reconnecting with what’s already there. In those simple movements of out everyday.
What’s your microburst of energy this week?
