As rising Seniors in high school, we (“the authors” “Jasper and Emile” “PTT” “J&E”) have seen many friends embark on their “Eurotrip” over the past three months. These trips have varied somewhat, in budget, destination, activities, scale, and more, but the things that unify them are worthy of discussion and economically significant for the European economy, the US investor, and many others.
In order to understand how durable this tradition is, hear this: as rising Seniors in high school, we are already planning the itinerary for our Eurosummer in the Summer of 2027. That means high schoolers are planning further ahead than most families do. When asking dozens of our peers what they plan to use the $3k - $8k they make from summer jobs this summer on, they have nearly all said, “Eurosummer.”
We’ve gotten into the weeds and modeled out what these trips look like, we’ve done original research on how large this economy is, and where its trending, and we’ve mapped out the impact on US stakeholders.
We’re paywalling this because it took lots of time, and this is original data and research that you aren’t going to find anywhere else. That type of thing is worth $150/year (and would cost you $10,000/year + from anyone else).
