When out scouting for new locations to photograph, I often find myself at the coast or where there is some kind of water like lakes or streams. The streams are very interesting with the moving/streaming water. I try to capture this movement with long exposure, often by using a ND-filter to get a longer exposure than I would otherwise. Also I mostly focus on details/closeups of the stream, trying to capture the most interesting. Snow and ice play I big part of my photography of the stream. Late winter/early spring time is a good time when there is more water and the flow is stronger. Summertime is more beautiful if you want to have more color in your photos. Unfortunately the water level is too low or slow for a good capture.
I still haven’t been to any bigger waterfalls or strong rivers where the flow is more active and gives more motion to the photo. It is on my to do list and I am checking out different locations to visit for this purpose.
