We've apparently all been using the human body on factory settings, while a bunch of other people found the secret menu. Turns out, there are way more weirdly useful things your body is capable of than most of us realize. So, here are the human body "cheat codes" people swear by that I genuinely cannot believe I've lived this long without knowing...

It all started when TikToker @oligiaboo shared two of her own "human body cheat codes." First, she said that if you pinch the spot between your thumb and index finger, it'll help relieve your headache. She also claimed that when you get sick and lose your sense of smell and taste, it'll come back after you sneeze??

And after she shared her "cheat codes," people flooded the comments with their own:

1. "If you stand up too fast and get dizzy, clench your butt. It can make the dizziness go away."

2. "Here's a trick to help calm anxiety called the physiological sigh: Take a quick double inhale through your nose, hold it, and then breathe out slowly. It mimics the way we'll gasp when crying or in distress, and it's a way for the body to self-soothe."

3. "If you're AFAB (assigned female at birth), you can put your fingers inside your vagina toward the back to help yourself poop when you're constipated. The wall is shared, so it works."

5. "If you're about to sneeze but it just won't come out, look at a bright light. For some people, it can trigger a sneeze."

6. "When you get a charley horse, immediately flex your toes up and back toward yourself to stretch the calf muscle. My OB told me to do that when I was pregnant, and it works every single time."

7. "If you can't sleep, breathe in deeply through your nose for four seconds, hold it, then exhale slowly. Idk how or why it works, but I sh*t you not, I've never made it past doing that five times before I fell asleep."

8. "If you're out in public and need to stop a sneeze, press your tongue to the roof of your mouth."

9. "Sing loudly if your anxiety is high. Singing helps me calm down."

10. "If you're constipated, lie on your back and massage your abdomen in small circles. I literally massage my stomach to get my poop out sometimes, and I swear it works."

11. "If your ears feel clogged, try yawning to help relieve the pressure."

12. "My foolproof hiccup method is to take a deep breath in, hold your breath, swallow as many times as you can, and one more, then take a deep breath out. It works first try EVERY time for me."

14. "If you're nauseous, press a spot about three finger-widths down from your wrist. It can help with motion sickness, too!"

15. "If you get brain freeze, just push your tongue against the roof of your mouth, and it'll go away."

16. "I have really bad stomach issues, so I get really nauseous after eating. Anytime I feel like I'll gag, I just focus solely on my breathing by breathing DEEP and slow."

17. "To get rid of your gag reflex temporarily, you can tuck your left thumb inside your hand and make a tight fist."

18. "If you're anxious or overstimulated, cross your arms over your chest and pat your arms back and forth, alternating left-right-left-right. I SWEAR by it."

19. "If your belly hurts from gas, child's pose can help you fart."

20. "Bad cramps (I have endometriosis). I found that gently tickling my stomach brings a ton of relief temporarily. Like skimming your fingers all around your belly very lightly."

21. "Light pressure on your temples can reduce a headache. It doesn't work for migraines, though."

22. "I get cramps that make me unable to move or do anything, and there's a pressure point in your ankle that helps alleviate cramps a little bit if you massage it!"

23. Lastly: "When you first wake up, lift one leg in the air at a time and rotate your ankles. Get the blood pumping. You'll be so much more ready to get up."
