Today we’re showcasing contemporary and women’s fiction author Susan Helene Gottfried!

I don’t think I became an author so much as I’ve always been this way. A way to dissociate from childhood trauma? Probably. But also parents who valued creativity and education, and teachers who fortunately did the same and encouraged me, from kindergarten clear through my MFA (in creative writing, of course).

I have so few hobbies that I have been joking that I only leave the house when it’s a tax-deductible event. I love to bake and cook, and yes, fountain pens are my hobby. I love to be outside, to be with my cats and my kids... all the boring stuff. Being a writer isn’t sexy 24/7, sad to say.

Maybe the Bird Will Rise. It’s the series starter, of course!
