I wasn’t expecting a camping trip in Acadia National Park to be so full of memorable meals. One after the other, I was pleasantly surprised by all the delicious eats this part of the world had to offer. Below is a list of everything I ate and loved.

Acadia National Park, Maine, United States

This meal is the epitome of “American cuisine”. Get a fire going, grab your hot dogs, your marshmallows, and enjoy this meal surrounded by the trees and animal friends keeping you company.

It has an entirely different flavor when roasted over a fire. The hot dogs come out crispy with a hint of smokiness, and the marshmallows get nice and burnt on the outside and melted on the inside. A meal you CAN’T miss when you’re camping.

American Meal Around the Fire

Not kidding, Maine has the best oysters on the planet. They are small, not too fishy or watery, a tad sweet, and wonderfully buttery. A luscious, fresh taste of the Atlantic Ocean. The Barnacle on the main street in Bar Harbor serves a different type of oyster picked fresh daily. We happened upon Pink Stripe, and I will forever remember the name. Scrumptious.

Oysters at The Barnacle

Two staples at the American breakfast table. Cooking this meal outside our tents with a propane-fueled stove was an entirely new experience I thoroughly enjoyed. Maine is the land of blueberries, so we had to add them to the mix!

American Breakfast at Camp

Eaten in a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Acadia National Park. Surrounded by large windows, you are immersed in the dramatic, rich green landscape of Maine as you indulge in their famous popovers.

Dessert at Jordan Pond House Restaurant

Not your typical bakery, Momo’s Cheesecakes runs 24/7 and is on a self service/ trust basis. Family-run and extremely delicious, I highly recommend stopping here for your favorite slice.

When I asked the waitress where they get their lobster, she pointed to the dock right in front of our table. Each morning lobster farmers drop off their fresh pick, and oh my God, could you taste it!

Recommended by our bartender at The Barnacle, we knew this place was going to be unforgettable.

I hope this article comes in handy when you are traveling around this part of Maine. Enjoy the nature and the good eats!

Grazie mille and wishing you the best food adventures.

until the next meal,

Nadà
