If I don’t keep a deadline, I’ll be all over the place. Dead lines give me landing zones, I need those.

Running really late this week…

My makeshift greenhouse desk, where I’ve been brewing up this week’s project for you, which has hit a dead end. For now, at least, it’s not seeing the light of day. I’m about 2,800 words and several images deep, and suddenly… roadblock. A dead end of sorts.

Well, more like a mental block, that tends open up the more as the closer I get to the my deadline, and I’ve got less then an hour till my usual publishing time, and the doors finally swung open.

…and I’d like to rewrite the whole thing using this new idea.

Tonight and tomorrow, I’ll be wrestling with these new ideas and—one way or another—I’ll have something for you by Monday.

Why am I saying anything at all?

This is just my way of keeping my deadline.

I hate being late, but gardening season is absolutely eating my time this year and while it’s also my ‘creative season’ I’ve been slow to process anything but seeds and plants. Lately, I’m publishing at the last possible second—on Sunday, two minutes before my 9:55 PM, my self-imposed deadline.

If I don’t keep a deadline, I’ll be all over the place. Dead lines give me landing zones, I need those.
