Dear tea friends,
Happy last month of 2025! Hard to believe we’re here, once again, at year’s end. As winter settles in, I hope you’re settling in well too, to the best days of the year to sip on hot tea.
We’re trying out some more regular-ish hours at the tea room!
Thursdays & Fridays: 10:30 am to 6:00 pm (last reservation at 4:30 pm)
Saturdays & Sundays: 11:00-12:30 | 1:00-2:30 | 3:00-4:30
This month, we’re also offering a special promotion of 20% off any gongfu-style tea service! If you’ve never tried gongfu brewing before, we’d love to introduce you to this fun, hands-on, mindful tea experience. And if you have, we’d love to welcome you back for another pot. No code needed; the discount is automatically applied at checkout. Check out our new menu and make a reservation below:
Our last special event of 2025 will be another Drop Everything And Write with Allison, on Thursday 12/18, 7:00-8:30 pm. We are offering a cozy evening of writing + tea, including some end-of-year reflection prompts to journal about - so come ready to get introspective. ✨ $20/person includes communal tea and 15% off any purchases in-store after the event.
As BCT’s tea selection grows, I’ve been thinking about how to do it in an intentional way. On the one hand, the economy still doesn’t feel great. So I’m looking harder than ever for more affordable, great-value, bang-for-your buck, interesting teas that still pass our rigorous quality threshold. On the other hand, we want to continue to source and to spotlight the very best teas we can find. So these new additions are a reflection of this dual intention.
Hongshui Oolong and Red Jade: 2 new teas from last month’s trip to Taiwan. One is sweet, roasty, and comforting; the other wild and funky. Both on the affordable side, and only available to taste at the tea room for now.
Jasmine Green: A stellar version of a classic. Think honeydew and cherry blossoms. And with only 1.5 g needed per mug (with re-steeps), the value on this tea is unbeatable.
Champagne Empress: First flush late spring/early summer pick of one bud, two leaves. Soft, graceful, oozing honey.
Tropical Lapsang: Top-shelf stuff. Expertly processed to give peach, papaya, and mango notes, with a mineral base. For the past 3 years, I’ve sourced a new fruity-style lapsang every year, and this one is my favorite yet.
‘Tis the season for holiday shopping~! Between 12/10 and 12/20, all online tea, teaware, and gift card orders are eligible to receive 20% back in the form of a separate gift card, for future use. A $50 order gets you a $10 gift card, a $120 order gets you a $24 gift card, etc!
