Hello again! I hope you’re having a lovely week. In today’s email:
Small afforable(ish) watches
Beach survival kit
Shorter shorts
Let’s dive in 👇🏼
I just posted a video about watches under 38mm and $1k:
This is part 1 of the series. In part 2, I’ll talk about smaller luxury watches (over $1k).
You can also skip the video and check out this spreadsheet with all 60 watches, including specs and other notes.
I’m content with my watch collection right now (mostly rotating between this Casio and my trusty vintage Datejust).
But if I were to buy something new, it would be one of the watches on this list.
I’m taking my 4 year old to the beach for a week.
Here’s what I’m bringing to make sure we have fun and don’t get too torched:
SPF Moisturizer - my go-to morning moisturizer
Rhone Swim Trunks - elevated trunks with a comfy liner (size S fits nicely)
Chubbies Swim Trunks - some of the best trunks for the price IMO; fit is perfect for me (size S)
Linen Shorts - my favorite dressy-ish shorts right now (seen in this short video)
Ultra-Light Sun Jacket - this brand is like a Chinese lululemon; high quality stuff; wearing this jacket is like wearing sunscreen
Abbreviated Linen Shirt - a TENCEL-linen blend that’s soft and breathable (see my quick review here)
Kids SPF Sunscreen - also great for adults when you need something stronger than your SPF moisturizer
Comfy Slides - these have been my summer house slippers; they’ll make great beach slides (they’re more supportive than OOFOS)
Tread Labs Sandals - been wearing these a lot too lately; kind of like Chacos, but not as heavy/chunky
Oakley Holbrook - casual shades that stay on during amateur beach volleyball; I like XS but they come in different sizes
Ray-Ban Frank - classy shades that stay on during rooftop orange crushes
Dungeon Crawler Carl, Book 2 - just finished the first book; this will be the perfect beach read
Humility and humor are brothers, and together offer a path to solace.
