Hello again! I hope you’re having a lovely week. In today’s email:

  • Shorts season

  • Happy birthday

  • Ethical consumption

  • Two types of people

Let’s dive in 👇🏼

It’s pretty much summer here in the American Southwest, and that means I’ll be wearing shorts for the next 5 months or so 🥵

Here’s a short video with a bunch of shorts fits from last summer (opens in YouTube).

I like shorts that hit a couple inches above the knee. For me, that means a 6-7” inseam.

I actually like how 5” shorts look on me, but when I sit down, they’re a bit too short…

Check out my video guide to shorts length right here.

My favorite pair of chino shorts right now are these Pull-On Performance Shorts from Everlane (94% cotton, elastic waistband), which happen to be on sale right now.

For lounging around the house, I like these cotton/modal shorts from Pair of Thieves (also on sale right now).

I plan on trying some new brands and styles soon, so if you have any suggestions, hit ‘reply’ and let me know!

We all sort of know that most of the stuff we buy probably isn’t made in the most ethical way.

It’s just common sense:

If you really think about what goes into making a pair of jeans, from growing the cotton to delivering the package to your house, how can they cost just $20?

Someone is getting screwed, and it’s certainly not the customer. It’s not the brand (or at least not the executive team).

But is it even possible to shop ethically at this point?

Well, yeah…but it’s gonna cost you.

Even if you don’t have a ton of extra money, I think it’s worth knowing what ethical manufacturing looks like.

This article from Heddels lays it all out.

There are two types of people in the world: those who do what they say they’re going to do — and everyone else.
