What I wore, where we went, and the work I did when they finally fell asleep.

I worked my booty off this week and I have almost nothing to show you.

That’s the honest opener. Most of what I did this week was invisible. I sat at my computer for days documenting my entire business so I can finally hire. Naming every system. Writing down every process that currently lives only in my head. It’s the kind of work nobody sees and nobody claps for, and by the end of the week my brain had quietly decided that meant I’d done nothing.

I’m learning that’s a trap I set for myself. I hide in the operations, the CEO stuff, the spreadsheets, bc it feels controllable. And then I look up and I’ve got nothing to post and I feel like a fraud. The work was real. It was just the kind you can’t photograph.

And then I actually looked at my week, and it turns out I had a lot to show. Just none of it was the work I’d been stressing about. I keep trying to be where my feet are instead of three steps ahead managing everything. Some weeks that looks like a full content calendar. This week it looked like a bounce house in the yard and a laptop open way too late.

The kids are the whole reason. They were here in Aspen and we packed it in. We went fishing. We have been down in the creek by our house basically every day, and we have been tearing around on the ATVs, which they are completely obsessed with. We rented a bounce house, which might be the best decision of the summer.

Top 5 this week

Here’s what actually carried me this week.

  1. Dinner at Steakhouse No. 316. My favorite Aspen spot, always worth it. I love going early and sitting at the bar.

  2. My New (pink!) Miron Crosby boots. I finally decided which pair to add to my collection after three years. More on that below.

  3. The lounge/activewear I lived in while working. I documented my whole business this week in these. (linked below)

  4. My OnCloud sneakers. Living in these. The lavender is so good, and you don’t have to tie them.

  5. House updates. All the cabinets went in this week (!!!!) and things are finally moving right along. Slowly becoming a real house.

Wednesday night I took them to Las Montañas after the playground and a full round of face paint, which is exactly the kind of night I want to remember.

Thursday night we threw a party that was really just for the kids. We had six families over, so there were kids running absolutely everywhere, and I am still recovering in the best way.

Last Weekend Faves

I’m going a little out of order here, but let’s take it back to last weekend!

Wore this to dinner at Cache Cache last Friday night with some friends. I wasn’t sure what I thought about this dress but omg it was such a showstopper. I got so many compliments!

Outfit Details: Rainbow Dress (on sale for under $70) // Chunky Necklace // Sunglasses // Chanel bag (old)

Perfect outfit for the Saturday morning farmer’s market in Aspen. We grabbed lots of goodies and cooked it all for dinner - talk about the perfect Saturday if you ask me! I’ve had this dress for several years and have it in black too.

Outfit Details: Amazon Tennis Dress // OnCloud Sneakers (best sneaker socks part of NSALE) // Varley Crossbody // Sunglasses

And then Sunday. I wore this to church and lunch in town on Sunday. LOVE this dress - although it looks like a skirt and top. It’s so comfy and an easy throw-on dress you could dress up or down.

Outfit Details: Le Bop Yellow Dress (wearing XS) // Green Sweater // Margaux Wrap Sandals // Clare V Grande Fanny // Thatch Heart Necklace // Rainbow Necklace // Sun Hat // Sunglasses // Huggies

After church, I went back to the house for a little and then I wore this to an afternoon walking around town and then to an early dinner at my favorite Steakhouse.

Outfit Details: Madewell Skort // Nordstrom Pima Cotton Tee (wearing XS) // Similar Bandana // Miron Crosby Boots // Amazon Sunnies

Back to this week. One of the many athleisure looks I wore this week while getting all my documentation work done.

Outfit Details: Target Eyelet Tank (wearing XS) // Target Eyelet Skort (wearing XS) // OnCloud Sneakers

Another athleisure, comfy look helping me get it all done.

Outfit Details: Freepeople lookalike dress // Bra-free tank layered under // OnCloud Sneakers // Cross necklace (diamonds direct) // LeMel Dee Alternating Turquoise Tennis Necklace

Outfit Details: Madewell Smocked Dress (wearing XS)

I have this dress in the stripes (above) and the white. It’s so easy. Can you tell I love easy, throw-on outfits?

Outfit Details: Rhoback Tank (wearing XS) // RhoBack Skirt (wearing XS)

I’m not a golfer (yet?), but I do enjoy riding around in the golf cart! I wore this for pre-dinner golf cart cruising and then to dinner.

Outfit Details: Aritzia Midi Skirt (wearing XS) // Aritzia Sweater Vest (wearing XS) // La Ligne Sweater (wearing XS) // Gigi Pip Hat // Margaux Wrap Sandal (similar from Amazon) // Amazon Sunglasses // Rainbow Necklace (similar from Amazon)

From The Denver Trip

I mentioned in my last round up that I went to Denver to see a concert. I forgot to share a couple looks, so I wanted to include them in this week’s update!

This shirt is literally amazing. It’s an investment but the quality is so good and I love the structure of the collar (it actually stays up, which I love)

Outfit Details: Frank & Eileen Top (wearing XS) // Frame Shorts (TTS) // Margaux Wrap Sandal // Clare V Fanny // Amazon Sunglasses

I wore this to see Eric Church at Red Rocks. I’d never been to Red Rocks before and omgggg it was INCREDIBLE - I cannot wait to see another show there sometime! I really want to see The Head and The Heart there!

Outfit Details: Hill House Mini Dress (wearing XS) // Quince Crossbody // Miron Crosby Boots // Sunglasses

I squeezed a little pool time into the trip as well. I’ve been on the hunt for a chocolate brown swimsuit and finally found one I love. I like that these bottoms come up so high, that it almost feels like a one piece lol.

Outfit Details: Bondi Born Swim Top // Bondi Born Swim Bottoms // Tkees Sandals // Sunhat // Sunglasses

Anyway. That’s what I wore, and what I got done that you can’t see. Tell me I’m not the only one whose fullest weeks are the ones with the least to show for them.

so anyways,

Brighton
