NaPoWriMo Day 1

My go-to lullaby for my boys has always been Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” There’s something about the first line that instantly brings me back to those long, beautiful nights with them.

The most complicated question I've asked as a mother.

The kids get it.

I find her exactly where I thought she’d be.

“My mother keeps poetry in the laundry room.”

“Tell me his story.”

We made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and laughed as we licked icing off our fingers.

I don’t want to be unapologetic.

The birds lilting a chorus welcoming the sun to a new day

I’ve been looking for a way to do more writing.

There’s a song on the wind

As I get back into writing, one of the first things I find myself doing is putting together poetry. Here's one that serves as a thank you to the generations of strong and loving women in my family.

Welcome to my corner of the internet!
