Found Footage has found an audience on Apple Music. Go figure. No complaints, that’s the service I use, plus I use iTunes or Bandcamp to buy music for my public radio show.
It’s just odd as I don’t promote streamers. I avoid Spotify, absolutely hate it, but have a free account there to listen to music bands submit for my show.
A good friend of mine suggested that we keep our music on the streamers so that we hopefully interact and push them towards our physical products. I’m not sure about that, but my publicist suggests similar. But we still make CDs for certain radio. And private Soundcloud tracks work well for PR. Radio has been a friend of mine too.
The listens are predominantly in the USA, UK, Japan, Mainland China, and Taiwan. They seem like legit sources. Albeit one might be an AI mining my songs… ;).
Anyway, I found it odd, but somewhat satisfying. I still believe physical is King. Plus, face to face is God. In fact, look for a fun vinyl announcement for my (our) next release. And if you support folks on Bandcamp, listen below.
