It’s hot hot hot here in Milwaukee! We’re pushing 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and for me, that’s simply to hot to be productive. Instead, I’m taking time to dream, to imagine, to plan all of the things I want to do. I’m brainstorming new ideas, making mood boards, phoning friends (… and sitting in front of my air conditioner in a tank top and shorts while sipping an ice cold Olipop).
The theme this month, is DREAM. Because, frankly, it’s just too hot to do too much. So we’re going to let ourselves luxuriate in the grass (if you’re like me, on a blanket in the shade), grab a pen and a notebook, and let ourselves daydream our most beautiful lives.
I hope you’re staying cool, eating plenty of ice cream, and daydreaming about the wonderful, magical, creative life you deserve to live.
xx Brianna
P.S. Please check out the exciting upcoming events and workshops coming up, including the all-new Office Hours for paid subscribers of The Mood Board. What better place to discuss your dreams? Ask any of my friends, I’m the best hype woman out there. :)

Pitching Workshops: Wednesday, July 15 or Monday, July 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m. CT on Zoom
I’m hosting my introductory pitching workshop again! Do you have an idea for an article or essay but don’t know where — or how — to even begin pitching it to publications? Have you long dreamed of being the next Carrie Bradshaw? Did you watch The Bold Type and want to be Jane? This workshop is for you!
This workshop will explore the pitching process, from coming up with ideas to hitting the send button (and following up, of course!). Whether you’re pitching essays, reported pieces, or guides, this workshop will help you take your idea from a topic to a specific, pitchable story. We’ll cover crafting the pitch, best practices for formatting, where to find pitch calls and editor contacts, and more. And we’ll even take some time to write a pitch that you can send off to an editor yourself.
And I’m offering TWO dates for this workshop so hopefully more folks can make it. :) Discount for paid subscribers below! ⬇️
Intuitive Writing Workshop: Saturdays, Aug. 1, 8, 22, and 29 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. ET on Zoom
Do you have lots of ideas for things you want to write about but don’t know where to begin? Do you feel like there’s something you can write about but you’re not sure exactly what? Do you want to write more but aren’t sure how to carve out the time?
Melissa Delizia and I are hosting an Intuitive Writing Workshop, and if you answered yes to any of those questions, it might be the perfect space for you to explore your intuitive writing journey.
We believe that writing is an intuitive practice. We need to follow the threads of ideas that inspire us, write when it feels right, and allow ourselves the grace to set projects aside to pick up other ones. We need to listen to our bodies and minds. We need to be in community.
This four-week intuitive writing workshop brings all of that into practice. It will build upon itself to help us connect with the intuitive nature of writing, using Reiki energy work, meditation, tarot, mood boarding, and writing prompts to inspire and develop our ideas. We will also take lots of time to write, share and be in creative community.
Whether you’re just beginning your writing journey or have been writing for years, all are welcome! Discount for paid subscribers below! ⬇️
