You might have read this post from the other day when I said I had ordered a new telly. Just a 32 inch one to replace the one in the kitchen, cos it was too laggy, plus there were hardly any apps.
Well, out of the frying pan and into the fire. Cos the new one is worse. And I’m taking it back.
I didn’t want to say what new one I was getting, cos I didn’t want it sounding like an ad. Well, I suppose I can tell you now, seeing as it can’t possibly be an ad, since I’m slagging it off. It was the LG 32LQ63006LA. There you go, named and shamed.
The issue with the new one is that the remote doesn’t work, then it does, then it doesn’t, then it does. I tried different batteries, different angles (it’s infrared), different distances, different apps. All the same. All shite.
Plus the screen is shite. It’s faded looking. The black stuff is dark grey. And if you’re standing up looking down at it, it’s even worse.
But the main thing is the remote. The ability to control the telly. And that’s why I wanted to get rid of the last one in the first place. So it’s going back.
I’ve now put the old telly back where it was, and bought myself a Fire Stick.
When I first mentioned on my stream that I was replacing the telly just cos of the laggy interface and lack of apps (rather than something wrong with the screen), people recommended getting a Fire Stick. But I’d bought the telly by that point, so that was that. But now that the telly’s going back, I just went ahead and bought one. And it works like a charm, so it does. You can control the thing with Alexa, you can tell the telly to pause or skip back by a certain amount of time, wee convenient things like that. It’s fucking marvellous. And it only cost about 40 quid.
No, this isn’t an ad.
I haven’t actually taken the new telly back, I’ll be taking it into the shop. I’ll let you know how it goes.
