Diary: Friday 16th January 2026

I didn’t get out of bed until 4:30pm.

I’d been up late as fuck on Thursday night, streaming Kingdom Come Deliverance II. Just wandering about, exploring the map. I was up till about 2:30am, I think.

I get to have a bit of a lie in on Friday morning, because I don’t stream during the daytime on the Friday. I used to, but I changed the Friday stream to night time.

I changed it so that I could have a bit of time to myself on the Friday, during the daytime. I’d been missing that from back in the days when I’d go out to write. I used to love going from cafe to cafe with my laptop, typing short stories. Or before that, back in Limmy’s Show days, when I’d just wander about doing nothing, waiting for inspiration. I’d go to the pictures (cinema), have something to eat, and just while away the hours.

But for the last few years, I’d committed to a stream schedule of 9:30am - 1:30pm every weekday. It left the afternoon free, but I’d have to wait for my son to come home from school, meaning I couldn’t fuck off too far for too long.

So I changed the schedule for that reason (plus to be able to stream to folk who prefer the night streams), and I looked forward to my daytime adventures, like the old days.

And now here I am, using the time to not get out of bed till 4:30pm. I spend more time wandering about in a game than in real life.

When I eventually got up, I had a combined breakfast and lunch of three scrambled eggs and toast. That’s what I have for lunch all the time. For breakfast it’s porridge, for lunch it’s that. If you ever read me saying that I had breakfast or lunch and I haven’t said what I had, it’s that.

I watched the rest of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I thought it was alright. Alright as in okay. I’ll give it 3/5.

That’s how I mark films, in marks out of 5. The rest of my family don’t, they do marks out of 10. But I like to commit to marks out of 5, it’s more decisive. I don’t think you need any more accuracy than that.

1 is utter shite, 2 is not very good but you’ve seen worse, 3 is okay, 4 is very good but not perfect, 5 is you loved it.

They sometimes ask me to give something marks out of 10, and I say something like 3 out of 5. They ask me to stop being annoying and just do marks out of 10, so I say alright then, and just double it. 6 out of 10. I think it does their nut in.

Sometimes when I convert my marks out of 5 to marks out of 10, e.g. 3 out of 5 to 6 out of 10, I do think to myself “Actually, I’d maybe give it 7 out of 10, now that I have that extra accuracy”. But I stick to my guns and stick to just doubling my marks out of 5. If I was to change it to 7 out of 10, I wouldn’t hear the end of it.

Later on, I played a bit more of Kingdom Come Deliverance II, off stream. I’m utterly hooked. I should have gone out for a walk, but I couldn’t be fucked. I didn’t leave the house all day.

After that, me and my family had dinner, and watched another episode of Breaking Bad. I hope this isn’t a spoiler, but it’s the bit where Skyler finds out. I fucked off to do my stream before the episode ended.

As I said, I’m streaming Kingdom Come Deliverance II, and I’m hooked. In case you don’t know, it’s set in medieval eastern Europe, and it’s fairly historically accurate, from what I’ve read. If that sounds boring as fuck, here’s a clip from that stream to show you why I love it.

I streamed that till around 1:30am, then went to my scratcher, as they say.
