Today, Andry posted video from the evacuation operations conducted in Beryslav on 9 May — the first day of the ceasefire.
We previously reported that several of the civilians, who were being evacuated from one of the most dangerous areas in all of Kherson Oblast, were wounded by Russian drones, shelling, and remote mining.
The volunteers managed to save 15 people, 5 dogs, 4 cats, and a turtle from the drone-sieged city. One of the evacuees was a 17-year-old girl who was wounded by a Russian anti-personnel mine, suffering severe shrapnel and explosive wounds to one of her legs.
The road in and out of Beryslav is littered with destroyed vehicles — military and civilian — as Russian FPV drones have been conducting what I dubbed “the War on Transportation” since late 2024. Beryslav has actually been under drone assault since 2023 and saw the pattern of Human Safari-style attacks emerge in early 2024 (before Kherson even).
Recall that on 4 February, Andry and his group were attacked deliberately by Russian drones when they last attempted an evacuation from Beryslav.

Employees of the Kherson City Military Administration, along with volunteers from the True Charity Foundation, carried out an evacuation trip to the "red zone" in Dniprovskyi Raion. A woman and a man with limited mobility were successfully evacuated from this area and are now receiving comprehensive assistance.

A dangerous suburb of Kherson experienced a significant intensification of Russian artillery shelling and drone attacks.
A few days ago, a neighboring house was destroyed due to Russian shelling, and a civilian neighbor was killed during one of the attacks.
Police officers, MBA representatives, and volunteers evacuated an elderly couple, their daughter, and a 17-year-old grandson from a dangerous suburb of Kherson.
The evacuation was conducted using armored transport, with a mobile fire group of the police ensuring the security of the route and monitoring the air situation against Russian drones. The family was moved to a safer region.
Kherson Police are undergoing training specifically to deal with the growing small drone threat in Kherson Oblast. In addition to their new anti-drone training regimen, police officers underwent auxiliary medical training, as we have seen how Kherson’s police are now performing medical evacuations since ambulances are defenseless against Russian drones and cannot reach victims in time without being struck.
