No One Else Is Coming

Freedom isn’t the end of the story; it’s the beginning of the war you were born for.

You weren’t rescued to wander, and you weren’t set free just to survive.

You were called to be a watchman, to stand where others fall, to guard what God planted under your hands before you even understood what it would cost to carry it.

Adam didn’t lose the garden when he ate the fruit.

He lost it when he stood silent and let the serpent speak.

David didn’t lose his peace the night he touched Bathsheba.

He lost it when he stayed back from the battle and wandered rooftops he should have never climbed.

The war is not against temptation.

The war is against absence.

I know what happens when you stop showing up.

I’ve stood on the wrong rooftops.

I’ve eaten the fruit that numbs and the fruit that sickens.

I’ve woken up in the ruins I built with my own hands.

I know what it costs to abandon the post you were trusted to hold.

And by the mercy of God, I know what it means to be spared—dug around, fought for, given another season to stand again.

You aren’t a victim anymore.

You aren’t a slave to what you survived.

You’re a steward.

A soldier.

Standing on ground bought with blood.

And the call on your life isn’t just to move on from what happened to you.

It’s to guard what’s been entrusted to you until your last breath.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

The post you were given is not about what you feel.

It is about the ground others will one day walk across because you stayed.

You were spared for this.

When you should have been cut down and thrown into the fire, the Gardener Himself dug around your life and fought for another season to see fruit.

You were given another year not for applause and not for comfort but for the sake of the ground you were meant to defend and the people you may never meet who will walk across the broken places you chose to guard.

Because the garden is still under siege.

The wall still shakes.

The watch is still needed.

And there is no one else coming to stand where you have been called to stand.

It is your turn now.

Your hands.

Your breath.

Your blood.

There is no other way forward but to set your feet down in the dust and guard the ground with everything placed in your chest until the day you are relieved by the only One who can say, It is finished
