Burnout isn’t just being tired, it’s stagnation. Motion without direction or meaning.
Attention scattered, intention lost.
During recovery, I realized I was working inside a system I no longer wanted to operate in. For some, it’s a way of a life. For others, it has its moments. For many, I’ve observed, it’s a combination of exhaustion, fear, and equivocation. A pervasive feeling – even as the business contracts and shifts.
For years, I believed burnout was the price of ambition. A narrative deeply embedded in Hollywood and American culture – success requires sacrifice. Often, that sacrifice is self-neglect. Work hard. Be available. Keep your head down. Get to that thing later…
For me, ambition cost me perspective on health, balance, and presence.
…but I didn’t come here to talk about another case of corporate burnout.
When I returned to work in the Fall, it was clear that the lifestyle and priorities no longer aligned with who I was becoming. Less than a month back in the office, I resigned.
As I changed, Los Angeles no longer made sense full-time. The density and transience felt more apparent. With new life circumstances (I got married!) – my partner and I wanted somewhere calmer with more nature and community. A place to raise a family.
As an agent, I gained perspective. I could see what mattered, what was missing, and where systems were outdated – or broken. In the process, my identity had fused with access and proximity – superseded by patterns in my own life.
To my friends and family, I would give them a glimpse into the exclusivity and perks of show business. It became proof of self-worth…this is what I do. This is who I am.
It took my body breaking to see how deeply I tied my value to validation.
Post-agency life, I am rediscovering my voice.
I lost the conviction needed to trust my perspective and instinct. This time has been about reclaiming my voice, vision, and service to others.
Currently, Hollywood often boils down to two things: dollars and ego. It feels like a never-ending rat race that can overtake who you are and what matters…I am living proof.
I have seen human rhythms sacrificed to algorithms, agendas, and the bottom line.
Find Your Rithm exists outside that machine.
This series isn’t a condemnation…it’s an examination of the systems we operate inside of, and the human patterns shaping creative decisions from within.
Find Your Rithm is for those who have postponed personal truth, health, relationships, or joy in service of “the business.” It is for people who recognize themselves somewhere in that cycle, and feeling a lack of purpose because of it. It is to acknowledge those who appear successful outwardly, but feel disconnected inside.
I don’t know exactly where this series is going, but I am following my intuition.
I’m finding my own rhythm…and that feels like the right place to start.
