When Everyone Is A Nazi The Real Nazis Get An Opening...As Maine Democrats Showed Us

Graham Platner, Democratic Candidate for Senate from Maine. For years he unashamedly brandished the SS Totenkopf. What does that say not just about him, but those who support him?

I am vowing to keep politics to a minimum. But I think this subject transcends politics. It is about evil and lust for power.

I am well aware of all of Trump’s many faults--his petulance, his childish insults, his lack of vocabulary, his boorishness, his exhausting and often misguided use of superlatives, his rambling tweets, his philandering and moral failings, even his diet and habits. I get all that and I agree with you.

But step back and take Trump out of the picture. Just pretend we have a boring old Calvin Coolidge type in the White House.

Is your mind clear? Okay. Now, I would like anyone to tell me how they could support Democrat Senate candidate from Maine Graham Platner. This is a man who made the conscious decision to tattoo onto his chest--not a private area few can see, but for all the world to behold whenever his shirt is off--the SS Totenkopf (“Death’s Head”) emblem. And I don’t even mean the hated Swastika which, were one to try and run cover for such a mark, could at least make some meek mumblings about it being an ancient Buddhist symbol, which it is, or whatever. (Even the Finnish Air Force sported it as their emblem for most of its existence.)

I am talking about the SS TOTENKOPF. As Batya Ungar-Sargon said, this was the last symbol her grandparents (and millions more from old men to baby girls) saw before they were murdered--by men wearing this emblem as they ushered them into the gas chambers.

For DECADES (going back to George W. Bush and even Reagan on occasion) Democrats have tossed around the label “Nazi” to demean and marginalize anyone with whom they disagreed--or, as we now can see, those who threatened their power. They marched against “fascism” and bleated out that Elon Musk should have been drawn and quartered for the mere act of holding up his hand in a screen-shotted gesture that was the end of his offerin up his heart to the crowd, not allegiance to any Führer.

AND YET.

On Tuesday 148,918 Maine Democrats (72% of those who voted) gave the nod to have a man who knowingly emblazoned across a quadrant of his chest the same emblem worn by the likes of Heinrich Himmler, Reinhard Heydrich, Adolf Eichmann, Rudolf Hoess, etc. be their representative, their voice, in the most important deliberative body in the world. So much for their go-to clarion call of “[Person I don’t like] is a ‘Nazi’”. So much for all of their hypocrisy.

The SS—the men whose emblem the Democratic candidate for Maine senator sported for year—in action. Where are all those who “stand up to hate”?

Graham Platner knew exactly what he was inking onto his body. He only covered it when it was brought to the media’s attention. And yet the party that continues to offer itself up as being against “hate” gave the man who feels a kinship to the butchers of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor, Dachau, Belsen, Chelmno, etc. their endorsement. What does this say about the state of the modern (key word) Democratic Party?

I must ask. Has the Democratic Party (at least parts of it) gone so off the rails, has their hatred of one man who will be out of office in 954 days so corrupted their souls that they would make a bargain with a bona fide devil and support not just a man who has an affinity for Nazism, but the SS…the cruelest, most murderous, and most evil incarnation of that vile ideology?

There can be only three explanations. And none of them are good.

1) The Democrats do dislike Nazis, but they dislike Trump so much more that they are willing to put an ACTUAL NAZI (sorry, no one just gets an SS tattoo on a whim) in power. Which prompts the question. How can anyone Jewish still support this now clearly anti-Semitic party over a man who has streets and parks in Israel named for him and whose daughter is Jewish? But that is a cognitive dissonance for them to wrestle with.

2) The Democrats want power so badly, they are so desperate to get it back by any means necessary, that, again, they are willing to put a man who pays homage on his own body—the most personal of spaces—to the organization that gave us The Final Solution to the Jewish Question; sick, twisted, evil men who met at Wannsee in January 1942 and ever-so-calmly over wine and caviar mapped out like industrialists the plans for the mass extermination of tens of millions, with European Jews as their primary target. C.S. Lewis’ definition of evil incarnate.

3) Democrats never believed the “Nazi” schtick about their opponents but rather it was just a marginalizing tactic--forget that it insulted and cheapened the memories of millions of victims of actual Nazis in the process. This is no surprise. Anyone whose knowledge of the Third Reich is too big to fit inside a fortune cookie knows that they are disgusting cynics, who never meant it other than to manipulate and herd like border collies their unhinged base that is fueled by raw emotion, or just ignoramuses.

No matter the answer, after nominating, supporting (Schumer, a Jew, endorsed him!), and voting for a man who reveres the architects of the greatest crime against humanity in modern time, the Democratic Party and their easily-manipulated minions with their self-righteous placards and signs calling those of us who believe in closed borders and a US not subservient to the very continent that gave us the SS in first place as “Nazis” should just shut the fuck up. Get off the streets and get back to work like the rest of us. After all, as your party’s apparent motto, at least in Maine Democrat circles, tells us: Arbeit Macht Frei.

Perhaps Maine Democrats may want to replace the donkey with a symbol that more reflects their values?
