Illinoisans are being asked to pay more and receive less. Utility bills continue to climb as years of misguided energy policies drive reliable power generation offline with no meaningful relief in sight. Taxpayers are now saddled with the largest budget in state history while Governor Pritzker refuses to take responsibility for billions spent on services for illegal immigrants and the collapse of the Chicago Bears stadium proposal. Meanwhile, new reports expose yet another taxpayer-funded DEI scheme operating behind the scenes in our education system. This week, I break down the latest developments from Springfield, examine what they mean for hardworking Illinois families, and highlight five new laws that will take effect on July 1.

As Illinois families continue to face skyrocketing utility bills, State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) is sounding the alarm on yet another energy proposal that doubles down on the failed policies driving costs even higher. During floor debate, the lawmaker from Shelbyville blasted years of energy legislation that have forced reliable coal and natural gas generation offline while leaving taxpayers and ratepayers on the hook for billions in subsidies.
He pointed to FEJA, CEJA, and SB25 as examples of costly government mandates that have failed to deliver affordable, reliable energy for working families. He also warned that excessive regulations and energy caps are pushing power producers out of Illinois entirely, threatening grid reliability and driving up prices for consumers.
“If you care about your constituents, if you care about low energy prices, if you care about the future of this great state, you have to be a no vote on this,” said Rep. Halbrook.
Not only is JB Pritzker lying about his role in the collapse of the Chicago Bears’ new stadium deal, he is refusing to take accountability for squandering BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars on illegal aliens while blaming Texas Governor Greg Abbott for sending them to Illinois.
Adding to the hypocritical JOKE of his tyrannical administration, he said this-
“The first priority for me is we’re not raising people’s taxes to pay for a privately owned stadium”.
HA!
Since when does he care about raising Illinoisan’s taxes for ANY REASON other than his political agenda?
The sad truth is that Illinois is a politically CORRUPT state, and until voters accept that reality, nothing will change. Here is an interesting take on the topic:

A joint venture between the Illinois State Police (ISP) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) recently broke ground in Pawnee, Illinois to construct a new facility that will be a training center for roadway safety that aims to minimize roadside hazards for first responders and highway workers.
ISP Director Brandon Kelly said of the endeavor, “We can’t just shut down the road and we can’t just shut down an interstate and practice. This creates the platform and the environment where those things can safely be done and where lessons can be learned and different things that can be tried and analyzed and tested.”
