Introducing Boom Leeds, Canalside

We’re pleased to announce the first shows for Boom Leeds at Canalside — our new venue home.

Thanks to six months of fundraising, merch projects and countless volunteer hours, we’ve already started to transform the space and can’t wait to welcome you all back later this month.

There’s still plenty to do, and it’s definitely a work in progress, opening for gigs is our next big step in raising the funds we need.

Canalside is our new home for Boom Leeds — the building when complete will house gig spaces, rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, extra event rooms and education & community facilities.

You might recognise our neighbours: we’re right next door to Project House (where we hosted Terror & Nasty last December).

Here’s what we’ve ticked off so far:

• Knocking down walls and prepping your 200 capacity gig room & bar

• Sorting electrics, plumbing & adding fire exits

• Prepping multiple rehearsal rooms ready for bands

No development is without its challenges — we’ve had blocked drains and even a bit of flooding (it’s feeling like home already).

Here’s what’s in the works as we get ready to welcome you:

• Accessibility: Building an accessible bathroom, ramp access point, and a dedicated viewing area

• Painting & Decorating: We’re working hard to make the Boom venue feel familiar.

• Rehearsal Rooms: space to house more bands
