I’m sure some of you already know this already, but I’d like to think I have a VERY good eye for shoes. I would go as far as to say shoes are my speciality.
I am probably the most decisive and emotional shopper in the world because (as we know :)) I am SUPER specific and can immediately tell if I love something or hate something. Don’t wear a thong sandal with a kitten heel around me, I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM. I understand they seem like a good option that serves a specific purpose, but I fucking hate em’.
Shoes are my absolute favorite thing to browse and shop for. I feel truly connected to them. They’re the most joyous, exciting, and fun things to buy… and not to mention, the easiest, because HELLO!! they always fit. They never disappoint you, you never need to wait, they’re yours to enjoy immediately upon purchase—which let’s be real, there is no better feeling.
I HAVE TO shout out Allison Bornstein here because she has this philosophy that I think everyone should implement. It’s something that really stuck with me and probably the only “fashion” advice I’ve ever taken. She said once that if you’re buying the same stuff over and over again, your wardrobe or look will NEVER feel fresh or different, causing you to be stuck in a rut. This is why it’s so important to shop for THE GAPS in your closet, or shopping ahead. Buy the dress or shoes you may not need in that very moment but WILL come in handy later for that special event or daytime activity that somehow we never know what the fuck to wear to!! SHOES being very much INCLUDED, and that’s what I really tried to do this month with these options.
OTHER than these dream boat pink Chanel ballerinas flats (because my brain exploded when I saw them) the shoes I bought aren’t similar to anything else I own. ONE MORE THING. I’d categorize this a spring/summer shoe edit. We dress for seasons over here, (even if it is LA) so let’s act accordingly.
