The Wisdom Inside Wanting

Hi Friends,

Tomorrow is the Flower Moon, and we're sitting together! (If you haven’t registered yet, you can here.)

In honor of spring finally getting sprung, this moonlit sit is an exploration of the wisdom inside wanting. How every yearning, blooming thing (from the flowers reaching for the sun, to the baby birds stretching their lil necks) is, in its reaching, revealing its belonging to the whole.

Most of us experience desire as evidence of lack. There’s a me, in here, and a person/thing/experience I want, over there, and the wanting is the distance I’m trying to close between the two.

But nondual wisdom points us toward a deeper truth: we are inseparable from what we perceive, what we reach for, and what we love. Feel into longing as it moves through the bodymind, and you’ll find a flame-like aliveness, illuminating the wanted and the wanter as one emergent happening. The distance is an illusion.

Even in grief, when the one we love is physically gone, the longing reveals how present they still are.

What obscures it all is our endless grasping. Grasping clamps down onto what we long for and asks it to be different than it is: to be ours in a particular way, to resist change, to give us what we came for. Grasping convinces us that the present moment is inadequate, and curdles our sense of connection.

Lucky for us, there’s a practice for that (lots, actually!) The wisdom inside wanting shows itself when we soften grasping and meet experience with curiosity. Tomorrow we’ll take it for a spin and maybe experience our own reaching as the belonging we’re after.

See you there ❤️ Lama Tasha

DATE: Friday, May 1, 2026
TIME: 8–9pm ET
LOCATION: Online (Zoom link emailed on registration)

TOPIC: Desire as Belonging
This month’s sit falls on the Flower Moon, named for the wild, unapologetic blooming that takes over the northern hemisphere in May. We’ll practice with desire as a natural movement of awareness and discover that the one who reaches, the thing reached for, and the reaching itself were never really separate.

DANA: This session is open to all on a PWYC basis. If you’d like to support this work, you can donate during registration or become a paid subscriber on Substack.
