Hi friends,
Tonight is our moonlit sit, a free meditation, open to everyone. ✨
This month we’ve been practicing with dreaming: how nightmares can make us lucid, and how joy is part of that lucidity. Tonight, we let that land in the body.
It’s my birthday week, and usually I spend this time excitedly dreaming up the year ahead. Makin’ big plans, settin’ big goals, movin’ ahead with so much gusto. But this year the dreaming has taken on a different quality. Not so much forward into an imagined future, but down, deep, into presence. Into the texture of what’s here now: the quiet sparkle of my own aliveness, the ferocity of my own heart. The unnameable weirdness of being alive right now.
I think it’s my body’s way of anchoring me. Reminding me that dreaming always happens from the centre outward, not the other way around. Like a pebble sinking into a lake, rippling out in every direction, I have to land here first in this heart, if I hope to move anything beyond it.
This world is thrashing around in pain. Every day it seems we’re being asked to do something, solve something, figure out THE ANSWER. And so we’ve been dreaming from this panic, from the midst of this pressure. We’re centring the nightmare and getting our assed whipped by it.
The dreaming I want to practice tonight doesn’t start in the middle of the nightmare, it starts in the middle of you. The centre of the mandala, as we say. The warm heart, the felt body, the specific life you’re actually living. The unique ground you’re standing on. And then, we dream outward, slowly, from that intimacy.
You can’t dream a world worth living in, without dreaming yourself into it first.
That’s what we’ll get up to tonight. See you at 8pm ET ✨

TOPIC: Dreaming From the Fierce Heart
This month’s moonlit sit is a 3-part practice for our times. We start with what’s actually here – the joy, grief and weight of this moment – and give it room to be. Then we work with the dream-like quality of experience itself, loosening the grip of what feels solid and immutable. And from that lucid, wide-open ground, we dream. Actively, specifically, fiercely. All are welcome.
DANA: This session is open to all on a PWYC basis. If you’d like to support this work, you can donate during registration or become a paid subscriber on Substack.
